This place is under new management, and these guys know how to create a good experience. Great staff and an interesting menu. The prices are very reasonable. Have gone here a few times, it's one of my main go to places when going out to eat. The steak salad is one of my favourites, the chicken wings are always good and the beer cold. I prefer the lounge where we can watch sports and visit. read more

While in the Valleyview area for work I had the opportunity to visit and dine at the The Boss Breakfast & Steakhouse. An independently owned Restaurant connected to the Paradise Inn based in Valleyview just off the AB 43 Highway. From the moment I walked into the naturally lit, spacious restaurant setting; I was excited to view and taste all their menu offerings. The owner greeted and seated me promptly. With the manager Melissa following up and informing me of the deal on wings/ soup of the day. I took some time to thoroughly review the menu, which I must say has a lot to offer considering how new the restaurant is. Ordered a lb of wings; half hot honey garlic and half sweet chilli for appetizer. I never took the opportunity to ask to review the drinks menu offered at this location, however Melissa did inform me of some of their alcoholic beverage offerings. For supper I ordered the Jambalaya, which is usually served on pasta; however this was served on a plate of rice. Added a side serving of garlic butter shrimp. It was interesting, the chorizo sausages, chicken breast cutlets, sliced onions, green bell peppers, shrimps and in-house sauce mixed with the rice was bursting with flavour. Overall, it was a pleasure to visit and support this local restaurant. Had an amazing experience and a great meal. Conversed a bit with the staff about the establishment and the Valleyview area. If you are in the Valleyview area, make time and visit this new local restaurant, support and try one or two of their meal offerings. The Boss Steakhouse - The Jambalaya - Steakhouses Near Me - Valleyview, Alberta

If you are southeast bound (heading to Edmonton) this restaurant is on the right side of the highway and there's lots of parking for big rigs and travel trailers. It's attached to the Paradise Hotel. Inside it's bigger than it looks from outside. The sign out front says breakfast and steakhouse. We arrived at noon and there was no breakfast on the menu. Presumably it's not an all day breakfast. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Burger with onion soup. My wife ordered Quesadillas. Her Quesadillas were good value as they were very full but they were also quite messy. She enjoyed them though. My chicken burger was fine. No complaints or accolades from me, although I should add that it wasn't messy. There's a choice of lots of different sides such as fries, salads, soup and more. I went with the onion soup and it was quite good. Overall we were satisfied with our choices. Most sandwiches were in the $15.00 and up range so a big family might find the nearby chains to be cheaper. I think that the food here, while not outstanding, is certainly better than the fast food burger places. This is a good place to stop on your way to Edmonton or Grande Prairie. read more

The experience is always memorable at one of our favourite local eating establishments. The Boss restaurant can be found just off of the service road adjacent to Hwy 43, located at the south end of the town of Valleyview. Whether you choose (red seal certified) Chef Rick's trademark happy face pancakes or, any of their lovely appetizers and impressive steak sandwich, you won't be disappointed. Foods alright but seems a bit pricy for what you get. Staff is very polite and personable. Place is always clean.

Stayed at the hotel attached to this place. Foods not bad. On my 3rd night here. Had wings the first night (Wednesday wing night), pretty tasty. Only 3 beers on tap and Richards red has been out since I arrived. Second night was the ginger beef bowl which was very good. Still no Richards red. Here tonight for round 3 and gonna get the chicken cordon Blue. The only issue other than the lack of beer is that the service has been very poor. Looks like the girls are overworked and covering the restaurant and the lounge. Possibly understaffed? Have had to go up and order my beer a few times even when there only two tables full in the lounge. Looks like the girls are trying. It's better than BPs. That's for sure. Oh, and you have to ask what the specials are every night. The girls don't tell you. Btw. Chicken Cordon Blue was very good, done a little different with mushroom gravy on top. Yup. That brings this place up a half a star. read more
