Westbury-on-Trym is teeming with carpenters, scaffolders and other such labourers walking around in paint-splattered overalls reading Nuts magazine and drinking milky sugary tea. It's a lad's town.
The guys working in A and J are no exception except that they are always actually working. As with many of these sorts of shops, a whole host of services are offered from standard (and very speedy) key cutting to engravings and repairs. This place is a family run business and they've been doing what they do, passing the skills down, for generations. As a result they're very good at what they do.
One additional point I like about this place is their collection bins outside for old shoes. Everyone always has a couple of old pairs knocking around and recycling these offers a sustainable way to carry on fixing! read more
