State Farm ended up totaling my van and gave me plenty of time before they were going to pick it up. I asked if they could please remove the trailer hitch and made it plain I would pay for that. I was curtly told they didn't have time for that with it sitting on their lot for over a week. I don't know if my appearance (long hair) or my having my service dogs with me. They kept trying to tell me that pets weren't allowed in the rental van my insurance secured because I have 2 large service dogs.
