Really appreciate how Aziz goes out of his way to help, explain & budget. Excellent, friendly service all the time!

I've been going to Aziz for over a decade. This place is a truly dependable and trustworthy business in an area of business that is full of con artists. They do great work, a little on the pricey side but I'll gladly pay it forward the quality and trustworthiness I'm getting read more

I used to like this place but they charged my boyfriend 100 dollars for an oil change and when I called to ask about it (I was nice, not Kareny I promise! I was just confused because last time it was much less) they shouted and hung up on me. I understand the prices are the prices I was just asking for clarification, and Aziz yelled at me on the phone. So, I guess I would avoid this place, they weren't kind to me. read more

I cannot recommend Aziz and his team enough. I was introduced to him by my roommate a couple years ago and I will never go to anyone else. Aziz is kind, reliable, dependable, and affordable. He will go out of his way to make sure you have everything you need. Just last Friday I had my front right tire blow out around 4:30 pm while I was on my way to meet some friends. The shop closes at 5 and everyone was getting ready to go home for the weekend, but Aziz was kind enough to replace my tire and get me back on the road quick. I thought I'd have to miss out on my Friday night plans, but thanks to Aziz I ended up enjoying the weekend with my friends. If you're having car trouble, don't hesitate to give Aziz a call! read more

Aziz and son are the best in the business! Honest, reliable, and affordable. I wouldn't take my cars anywhere else.

A & A Auto Performance - They work on all cars - Auto Repair Near Me - Los Angeles, California

A few weeks ago, I took my car here as my AC started blowing hot air causing the engine to overheat. I was told the radiator fan assembly had seized up and that the thermostat needed to be replaced. Long story short, I ended up paying over $900 for a new radiator assembly ($350), thermostat, coolant and freon. You can get a new fan assembly on Amazon for $150 or thereabouts. I realize i'm not going to be paying Amazon prices and a shop needs to mark up their parts, but this seemed way overpriced to me. Furthermore, the shop manager recommended I replace the A/C/ compressor, receiver dryer to which I declined. This would have easily been another thousand dollars in charges. When I got my vehicle back, the engine was no longer heating up but my A/C was still luke warm. Far from the ice cold A/C I was hoping for when a vehicle is recharged. Two days later, the check engine light came on. I took my car to another shop deep in the Valley whose owner actually took time to diagnose and fix properly. Turns out it was an electrical issue, a 3 way short going back to the central point in the computer which affected the thermostat sensor. No new parts needed, just labour. Only cost me a couple hundred bucks. A few posts ago, a lady on here alluded to this shop being too busy to really spend time on a car and that they just do band aids/short cuts. I believe that was absolutely the case in this scenario. Not only did they not fix the problem, I would've had to spend another thousand dollars for an ac compressor/dryer which would not have even fixed the problem! (I ended up ordering those parts online and just replacing them myself). The prices here are outrageous considering the actual work done. I would absolutely never bring my car back here again, nor would I recommend this shop to anyone. Epic fail! read more

My fiancé had a kitten stuck in his engine and was spending all day attempting to get it out to no avail. He called AAA to help get to the kitten, but they couldn't help either and ended up towing it to Aziz, who helped get it out safe and sound and at no cost. He was extremely kind, patient, and helpful. Thank you, Aziz!! The kitten thanks you too :) read more

OMG...This is a gem/diamond in the ruff!!! My daughter had oil change from another competitor and her car started smoking and smelt like fire. So she parked had Triple A tow to A & A Auto Performance where Aziz and his team helped her saying too much oil was put in and overflowed on transmission could have caused a fire THEN they drained excessive oil would not let her pay anything not even a tip. We've been bringing our cars to A & A Auto Performance for 12 years. Put simply, Aziz is the best. He's trustworthy, knows what he's doing, and offers fair prices. He's literally sent one of his mechanics with a portable battery charger to jump my car for me, for no charge. He'll diagnose what's wrong, never try to upsell you stuff you don't need, and tell you what might need to be done in the future. He's fixed my 20 year old Subaru, and it runs great. Passed its smog test with flying colors. He's also fixed my husband's five year old Prius with wonderful results. My son and I have a saying, "Our cars love Aziz." read more

Aziz and Fred are the most honest mechanics I've ever met. I send all my friends and family to A & A when they need vehicle repairs, maintenance, or just a smog check. Everyone I send always tells me how friendly the staff is and the great work they did. I have a 2001 Dodge truck that they rebuilt the motor and it's still going strong with over 50,000 miles on the rebuilt engine. I also have a 2002 VW Eurovan with over 200,000 miles on it and they are helping me get the most out of it and keeping it on road. I want a new car someday, but these guys keep my antiques on the road! Do yourself a favor and give them a visit the next time your vehicle needs repair or maintenance. read more

Aziz and Fred took care of my Mustang almost two years ago when it died on the 101. A friend of work recommended them, and I was really pleased with my service. Last week my Jeep started acting up - strange noise coming from the engine. I brought it in at 9:30am on Saturday. By 11am Aziz had already diagnosed the problem, called me with a quote, and started to work. I picked up my Jeep at 1pm. A three hour turnaround - not a common thing in automotive repair. I recommend these guys to everyone I know! They're polite, up front, and get the job done. read more

I am BEYOND HAPPY I found this place. Finding a trustworthy mechanic can be difficult, BUT, these people are professional, honest, and genuinely care about the well being of your vehicle without forcing anything extra upon you. So, I was referred to this place by a friend and thought "oh good a good and honest mechanic". Boy was I wrong. I took my car in because the power steering went out. They told me it was the pump and they needed to put a new one in. I said fine, I know these things happen. They charged 428 dollars and the invoice said 150 was for the pump and 62 was for a refurbishment kit. I had already paid them when I looked at the receipt so I called them up and asked if my pump was new. They said "no, we don't put knew parts on, only refurbished ones". I had done some online research and the cost for a refurbished pump was been 80 to 90 dollars so I asked why the mark up since I am paying for the labor. His response was the pump had a warranty. I asked what the refurbishment kit price was he said it was to refurbish my original pump. Does that make sense? I ended up having him refund me some money, which he did. 50 dollars. But, guess what! One year and two months later the crappie pump went out again! I called them up and of course they said it wasn't under warranty. I took it to J and C on lankershim just past burbank. They fixed it for only 144 and told me it was the original pump. As a side note, my other friend took his car here on our mutual friends recommendation for an oil change and 2 days later the car started leaking oil! When he brought it back to them they looked at it and said it wasn't their fault and charged him to fix it. It leaked a week later. He ended up going to a different mechanic that took care of the problem. Moral of the story.... go to J and C! Paul is amazing and honest. read more

Came here because of Yelp. These reviews don't lie! Great service. Aziz was very helpful and I left a satisfied customer!

Aziz is the man. My family would not dream of taking our cars anywhere else for service. So honest and professional. Great job.

They are very inexpensive and they are so fast and friendly. NEVER go to a dealer they are twice what they charge here. However, I had to update my review from five to three stars because I was going there for oil changes and stopped in for a simple headlight replacement and within months of their replacing it, it would be out again. I think they replaced it three times before I ordered my own on the internet, took it to a place who showed me how to change for free and decided, even though this place is so convenient, it ends up being costly because it seems their parts are either not compatible or ideal for my Prius, or else they are low quality. My headlights have not gone out since I ordered my own. read more

The other day I called and asked if they had time for an oil change. "Sure! Come on in!" So I did, because this is the only place I go for such things. (My last review was when, 2013? I *only* come here! I'm a loyal customer because of the always honest, high quality service!) I go in and Aziz, the owner greets me warmly (he always remembers me!) and gets to my car immediately. Twenty minutes and $31 later, I'm on my way. Absolutely no hassle and no ridiculous upsells I don't need; just an amazing guy I always refer people to, and always go to myself. Any car trouble I've had, Aziz and his team are my guys. This company obviously prides themselves on extreme high quality work, complete and total honesty, and excellent customer service. These guys are the best; especially Fred. They were able to correctly diagnose and repair an issue that two other mechanics (including the dealer!) were unable to solve - all for a great price! Fred was determined to get to the bottom of the issue and spent a lot of hours doing so but gave me a huge break on labor. Great customer service, too; I was kept apprised of the status of my repair every step of the way. I will definitely give them my business again (but hopefully not too soon!). read more

I wouldn't suggest bringing them anything major, and a little more communication would have gone a long way. I came to these guys on the recommendation of Yelp, and a dealership I was buying a car from. I had a list of repairs that needed to be done as a contingency of the sale, so Fred and I priced everything out ahead of time: change of fluids, new brake pads, replaced tail light, service of TPMS - all quoted at a very good price. So back at the dealership I finalized the car purchase. When the call came that everything was done and the car could be picked-up I was surprised to find that half of the stuff hadn't even been attempted. Fred previously made no mention of what could or couldn't be done there at the shop, and would have sent me off missing a center tail light if I hadn't called them on it. I get if you aren't a full service shop that can't fix the Tire Pressure Monitor, but a brake light? I'd have just done it myself if it wasn't part of my deal when buying the car. Ultimately I wasn't charged for the work, (and I'm glad to say that the Stellar Auto were as good as their word, handling the remaining repairs through other shops at my request,) but I'd already committed to the purchase and I lost the better part of a day driving around to get the repairs done. read more

PLEASE, PLEASE, think twice before bringing your car to this place. Don't let the good reviews fool you as I had planned to leave a good review for some time as I had brought my car to these guys at least 5-6 times and spent around $300-$400 each time. Well, long story short. The last time I broke down right at the gas station (conveniently for me or so I thought) so I pulled my car over and left key with gas station clerk as I had done before in the past. It was a coolant hose that had busted and now come to think of it this is the 4th time it has been a coolant hose and have been charged several hundred to fix. Seems awfully weird that I was busting a coolant hose once every 4-6 weeks. Anyways that's beside the point. The time before this I had brought my car in for something I believe it was the water pump or something like that but I had noticed my car had started running a bit weird a week or so before. It felt like a misfire or maybe fuel pump was going or could have been a number of other things but I know a half decent amount about cars (I grew up in n.y. And my family owns a Swedish, VW, Subaru specialty shop) but I'm no expert but knowledgeable enough to know when my car isn't running correctly. Well that time when I picked it up he repaired the water pump and I asked about the misfire or the hesitation it was having while accelerating. It didn't do it constantly but with no more than a 5 min drive you would most certainly notice it. He said he took it out and he plugged it in and it didn't throw any codes. Thought it was strange cause I KNEW that it was something happening. So, this last time when the hose busted and I left my key I called next morning and he said he meant to call me.. just to back step a bit... About 3-4 days prior to this hose busting my car out of nowhere started making a loud knock almost sounded like a rod knock and it wasn't a tick I was a knock. Being busy at work I didn't have time to go in immediately but a day and 1-2 later the noise completely stopped however the car felt as if it was running on 2-3 cylinders if that and it's a pretty snappy 6 cylinder. So I immediately knew there was an issue and I believe it has been an ongoing issue sense the last time I brought it when I noticed the misfire or the hesitation when hitting the throttle. Basically my car lost 70% power and I knew that something major was going on and needed to be taken care of or at the least diagnosed. So when I spoke to him he checked out my car and yet again it needed another hose and it was going to cost in the $350 range. As I was on the phone with him I told him the whole story about how it was making a loud knock for about 1-1/2-2 days and it had stopped about 2 days ago but sense then has lost most of its power and when hitting the throttle hard it made a loud engine noise as if it were tryin to go fast but was barely picking up speed. It was so obvious my girlfriend who barely knows how to pump gas even could tell right away. He said he couldn't look at it right now because the coolant was leaking so bad that it is non drivable but said as soon as he gets the hose on he will take it out and see what I'm talking about. When I went to pick it up he fixed the hose and charged me about $380 and I asked about the power loss and why it is making a weird noise past 3500 rpm's and doesn't want to pic up speed from there. He told me he drove it for 1/2 hour and he drove it pretty hard to make sure the hose was good and it didn't overheat and he didn't notice any power loss at all and it ran fine. (Mind you I've brought my car here 5-6 times before this so they know my car is pretty quick. So I was pretty confused and because he's the "expert" I said well maybe it all had to do with the hose. As soon as I left I noticed it was running exactly the same. No power and barely would move over 3500 rpm's. I didn't go back cause I left work to pick it up and needed to be back plus I came as they were closing. My job is 10 min away from the shop and my car blew up on the way to the to shop. Now I made a claim through a company that deals with mechanics that screw people over. But before that I called him several times because he kept hanging up on me. Swearing it was running fine. Either he's a very incompetent mechanic or he didn't even bother looking into the other problem that I knew was serious and didn't even take it for a test drive and just took my cash and sent me on my was. Now my car has a huge hole in the intake manifold and is in the side of the road all because a lazy mechanic lied and said he looked at what I asked him to and bold face lied. $400 in Rental car, time missed at work, and $380 for a car that ran 6 miles. PLEASE..... I'm telling you these guys are dirtbags! Their labor rate is outrageous and they are lazy and just want to do the bare minimum for your money. After the number of times I've brought my car there + the price they charge they treated me like shit! LAWSUIT read more

Though finding this place can be hard (it's behind the Chevron on Moorpark and Vineland), once you get there you will be glad you did. Aziz is a great mechanic who has a lot of confidence in making things work with your car (as opposed to crummy mechanics who just want you to trade it in to them). He has always been quick with any work we have had done and offers fair prices. Also, he works with our schedule and on the weekends. He remembers who you are and calls with all updates. This was the worst experience I've ever had. Do not come to this business! This guy installed a new battery in my van 8 months ago, charged me $270 and said there was a warranty. My van kept dying if I didn't start it every few days. I took it to get tested and it was a bad battery. I went back and the owner/mechanic denied ever installing the battery! He then yelled at me to prove it! If I didn't have a receipt he wouldn't replaced it. I said this is ridiculous. do they have records of my visit? He mumbled something about a building fire or damage or something. Just lying. I said he was going to feel like an asshole when I found the receipt. Well he started cussing me out. And I started yelling back. It's horrible to be being taken advantage of financially but also being verbally assaulted by a man that runs a business is just deplorable. I hear all the time to bring a man with me to get my cars fixed but I'd like to think there are good people in the world. Well if there are they are not working at this shady mechanic shop. If anyone knows how to report this business in a more professional way please let me know. read more

As a woman in an unknown city (with no family or friends with car knowledge- clearly car stuff makes me nervous) I can rest assured I don't have to worry about a scam with my car whenever I go for any kind of maintenance or repair here. Aziz is a lovely man who I know I can trust with my car no matter what. He is personable with good communication/ costumer service skills, is honest (never overcharges for anything, or takes an opportunity to make a quick buck), and knows his stuff. Joe is also an honest hard worker who will tell it like it is. I met Aziz 2.5 years ago when he was referred to me for my smog check. It was quickly done at one of the most affordable rates in town. Once I had my California license plates, I needed help installing it in the front (Florida cars don't have license plates in the front), which he did by simply drilling two holes and adding two screws. I offered to pay, but he wouldn't take anything. I asked him to check my air conditioning because some guy at a Jiffy lube told me it had to be fully replaced and was on the verge of collapsing. Aziz denied this with a puzzled look on his face. 2.5 years later, my air is still fine. Later, a friend of mine told me my wheel rims had to be replaced because they were rusty. Aziz disagreed, which could have been another opportunity or him to make a small fortune, but he proved to be a man of principle and remained sincere. Since then, he has also helped me and my fiancé with a battery leak, a check engine light, tire plug, brake pads, and a car crash. When I needed to replace my brake pads, since it was a costly project, I did compare with 3 other mechanics in the area...Aziz's price remained the best. Someone hit me from behind, and he was able to refer me to another excellent vendor, Hayk of American Eagle Body Shop. We will remain loyal customers of Aziz as long as we remain in the North Hollywood/ Studio City/Burbank area because he has been so noble with us. I can drive around these crazy highways and dilapidated pothole-filled streets and still feel confident that my car won't break down or that a hubcap won't pop off. Even if we move 30 miles away I will still go to Aziz because a mechanic that is trustworthy and affordable is rare. read more

I really can't speak highly enough about these guys. My girlfriends engine was making a terrible noise. I took it to about 4 mechanics, all of whom said it needed overhauled....for $4k+. She/we simply didn't have that. Paul (I think that's his name) said he could fix it and it would be about 90%, would work for about a year, if not more AND it would cost $300. He replaced the rod bearings and boom, the car works fine. I'm just sad I didn't bring it to them sooner. I've gotten my breaks done there and called to compare prices...exactly the same as others I called. To fix my body? They told me it wouldn't pay off in the end because the car wasn't going to increase in value that much if I got all the minor dings and the key marks some assbag made on the doors. I mean, the guy talked me OUT of work to the car. I trust NO ONE else in LA. read more

I was one of those who fell in love with the guys. Good guys but I had a bad experience with them lately. I've been using them for a year but my impression is, they're too busy to really spend time with a car, that they're just doing band-aids or do short-cuts. I feel they try to do quantity than quality. I brought my car in just for an oil change, agreed to have my tires changed and replaced my break pads. I agree I needed these two. But as soon as I picked up my car, I noticed a drastic difference in the sound of something I don't know I've never heard in 15 years I've driven the car. My heater was not working too but I just used it prior to the oil change. The sound wasn't an ominous sound just a louder sound of engine than normal. A week of driving, my car stopped running. I Had it towed to their shop. Fred said my car was low on coolant and I overheated my car. HUH? I overheated my car? How will I know that? I didn't see the thermostat telling me so. Didn't my car just had an oil change? Fluids are checked, among others in an oil change. Didn't they check it? I'm sensitive to overheating because it over heated too before but my retired previous mechanic changed the thermostat and my car has been fine since then. I didn't see my thermostat needle going up prior to taking my car in. They called me after my car was with them for a day that it's ready to be picked up. I returned the renta car, picked up my car but my foot. My car was still overheating. What's the deal? I had to turn around from driving to work looking for a gas station or someone to help me look under the hood. It looked bad. The water reservoire was overflowing and smoking. The top was loose. I was smelling something I've never in the life of my car smelled. Something burning. Geez, my car was just doing fine unti I brought it in for an oil change. The gas station I stopped to look under the hood has an auto shop so I asked a mechanic to look at my car. The mechanic there, in between his other tasks, spent 4 hours in my car testing this and that. He also took the time to explain to me and was showing me the issues. I felt comfortable because he made me understand. I've had the car for 15 years so I know my car and I do agree what this mechanic was explaining to me. He's very knowledgeable and is thorough. He was surprised why the mechanic (Fred) where I had an oil change didn't check what were supposed to be checked and alerted me on potential issues. This mechanic said my car has a circulation problem and coolant has nothing to do with the overheating. Fred and Aziz are nice guys but I need more than nice. read more
