I hired A1 for annual maintenance on the recently established fire break around our home. After about two weeks I noted the plants seemed healthy. Not a single leaf had turned. I worried that a rain event a few hours after the herbicide was applied got washed off. I called A1 and they indicated they would reapplied as necessary. Called them for a quote as I'd used them before. Previously did good work but a little pricey. For new work was quoted $1565. When I questioned the price I was told they'd take a 2nd look and get back to me. Didn't happen. Got a 2nd bid and had new bidder do the job for $800. One worker, 2 hours at the property and a trip to a dump. read more

We bought our house a year ago and had two large Ash trees that needed a lot of trimming. We had limbs touching power lines, limbs over my neighbor's truck, and over our kids' bedroom. The crew arrived when they said they would and talked with me about the plan and what my needs were. The guys on the crew were courteous, professional, cautious, and left my front yard even cleaner than they found it! Additionally, their trucks and equipment are well maintained and work well. They even went the extra mile and cleaned up a small yard waste pile I had in their work area. As for price, A1 came in at a quote that was just over half of what another tree company in Redding wanted. When I need tree work done again, I will absolutely call these guys again. Very happy with the service I received from A-1. They were informative about the trees in my yard and the ones around my property line. One of my beloved trees was almost lost to bark beetles, but A-1 was able to treat it and did a nice job trimming away the dead limbs. You are in good hands using this company! I had A-1 Tree Service come out and trim our three 20+ year old trees (two river birch and one maple). The estimate was very reasonable and the two gentlemen were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and polite (you definitely got the feeling they enjoyed what they do). Once they were done trimming and chipping, they cleaned the entire area where you couldn't tell anyone was there, with exception to the fine thinning work they did. We live in Bella Vista and was needing some tree service for fire prevention. We had A-1 Tree Service cut down two full size trees today and they not only gave us a competitive quote, they did the job very quickly and cleaned up very nicely. We wanted to say a very public THANK YOU to the team at A-1 Tree Service in Redding. We have a large dangerous tree (from a neighbors yard) hanging over a patio area in our back yard. Over the last couple of years the tree had dropped large branches damaging our decking and putting our safety at risk. A-1 was able to safely remove two of the most dangerous branches taking a huge load off the the tree. It was a difficult project because we have limited access to our backyard. They removed one diseased pine and ground up the stump. The tree was located in a raised planter. I pointed out the under-ground irrigation and they took good care to avoid any contact. In less than an hour the tree was down, the stump ground down and every bit cleaned up. Great job and reasonable price. read more

Hired and paid this company to cut tree branches back from roof line to be in compliance of home and wildfire insurance requirements. Multiple tree branches were not sufficiently cut back as agreed on creating potential loss of insurance policies. Both policies are a requirement for my mortgage company. Multiple calls were made to business owner, promises of taking care of it made but a month later the tree branches still remain and it is now fire season. Don't recommend this company. read more

The men were very professional and friendly. The price was very fair and they were flexible when my husband asked for an additional tree to be removed, quoting a fair additional amount for that tree. They willingly shared information and answered my husband's questions. They did an excellent job of removing very large trees that were within feet of our 2 story house without touching the building. They had to climb the trees to do so and my husband said they were awesome. We will definitely hire them in the future and I have already recommended them two 2 people I work with. I forgot to leave my checkbook at home for my husband and Mike offered to pick the check up at my work to save me a trip to their office. Awesome! read more

I have used A-1 tree service to trim a number of trees which line my property the bid he gave me was high but I decided to have them go forward and do it for me. I assumed they would do a nice job of trimming, thinning, and crowning to trees but after I came home from work and the job had been done l looked at what had been done I was greatly disappointed because all they did was lightly thin the trees for a high priced bid. I reviewed my exterior house cameras and found that five guys had come in with a chipper lightly thinned the trees and placed small branches and twigs into to chipper no large branches were trimmed and bucket trucks were every done or used and the five guys were only there for about a hour and a half. I called the company and told them I was not happy and would not pay till the job was done as they stated would be done, the guy on the other end of the line stated they would come back out and perform warranty work on my trees.They came back out trimmed larger branches cleaned up the trimmings then left I then payed them the entire bill because I didn't want to fight them any longer and wanted to never higher them again. I recently got to know a young guy who climbs up over 200ft. to trim very large trees with power lines in them he does very risky work others won't do he often works 6 days a week and his boss refuses to pay him fairly and when this kid needs health insurance his boss reduces to at least provide him with health insurance. I finally asked him one day after hearing his numerous complaints and he stated he works for A-1 Tree Service. So this business owner is burning both ends of the candle stick with extremely high bids, poor work performance, and finely find out he treats at least one of his employees like crap! read more
