I wish there was a "zero" rating because A1 towing deserves it. I am astounded by the reviews that say that Jessica and the office staff were so professional because our experience was the complete opposite.
Our 17 year old son and his girlfriend went to dinner at LeRoy's on a Sunday evening and parked in the lot next to Persnickity's. We have parked here before after hours without incident; however, we were recently told by friends that the owner of the building now has a camera up and as soon as someone parks, he calls the towing company. Unfortunately, we forgot to tell the kids not to park there. Needless to say, the car was towed within 20 minutes. (Sounds like the owner and A1 are in cahoots, if you ask me).
My husband was very upset and called the towing company. He was irate on the phone and he and the man on the phone exchanged words. He admits he should have calmed down before calling.
They told us we could not pick it up because it was "after hours" (even though they literally just towed it). We could pay $50 extra to " make an appointment" or wait until the next day.
When my husband showed up with my son the next day, Jessica answered the "ring doorbell" and once she realized who was picking up the car she began accosting my husband. My husband said he was not there to discuss the conversation from the previous night, he was just there to pick up the car. Jessica proceeded to say "Your son is a D-U-M-B (spelled out) ass, just like his daddy." Mind you, my son was standing right there looking in the camera.
When she discovered the car was actually my mom's car she then said, "Your mother-in-law (said to my husband) is a dumb ass too." She then told us that we needed a notarized letter from my mom to pick up the car. My husband began walking away and told her he would be back, and she added, "better yet, she needs to pick it up herself!" (She is a snowbird and lives in Ohio). He felt so threatened he went down to the PGI police department to report this behavior. Who knows what is waiting behind that gate.
How does a business allow their employees to talk to the public like that? I am sure they have dealt with angry people before after having their car towed; however, to continue to escalate the situation the next day when she wasn't even involved in the previous evening's conversation is so UNPROFESSIONAL!!! She should be ashamed of her actions.
Terrible, terrible business! read more
