Within 11 months the mildew started to appear. When I complained they simply stated that there was no guarantee on decks. Then why give me a very impressive brochure just turn down the job. No one wants a job done with no guarantee on the work performed. I had paid less when I did the whole deck 3 years ago in 3 colors and now within 11 months I had lost $1900! I would never ever hire them again, and if one does, please make sure there is written warrantee.

He did an excellent job visiting my house each day to review the work with the crew, make sure I was aware of how things were progressing, and to update me of any changes needed on the job site. During the job the crew discovered some bad pieces of siding that needed to be repaired and Pat had me review them on site, sent pictures for my record, and sent updated costs so that I was aware of the impact to the overall project budget. At the end of the job he made sure the crew took care of every item on the punch list to get fixed before asking for final payment. No home improvement job is going to go perfectly but I feel that Earthly Matters delivers a consistent customer experience not just when they are quoting your job, but all the way through to the end. I would work with this company again in future for my house painting needs.

We didn't feel it was right to pay an additional $1,000 for that and other items addressed in the estimate. As for changing the scope of the project, the recommended paint did not perform as described by Intown. We could not see our way clear to pay an additional $1,400 on a $14,000 job. I received a response the next morning, a phone call from Russ Melton. He assured me a member of the team would arrive soon with an estimate and even invited me to call him personally if I didn't hear from the team soon. There was no need, I received an email and a call later that day. Russ showed up the next day and provided an estimate for the project. While I had him there, I showed him some other issues with the house that had been on my "to-fix list" and he provided an estimate for those projects as well. The cost was exactly what I expected, and I gave him the go ahead to schedule workers ASAP. They came within a few days, even though it was all happening around the Thanksgiving holiday. Jose and another roofer (sorry, I didn't catch his name) showed up early for the appointment but waited out front until the appointed time. They were courteous, kind (even to my very excited dog), and had the problem fixed in no time. They even installed additional flashing to the second skylight (which hadn't yet started leaking) just as a precaution, free of charge. The office staff were just as kind and professional as the roofers. I worked with Deb Burris who helped me with billing and scheduling. The interface for billing was simple, the contracts and estimates were clear and easy to understand, and she was very knowledgeable and responsive over texts, emails and calls. I will certainly be calling them again soon for those other household projects. I recommend using them if you have any home improvement or repair needs.

They should have never touched my deck if they didn't think staining it was appropriate. I contacted the company within months of sealant application, and after persistent back-and-forth with Amanda (the manager), the owner (Doug) eventually came out and assessed it and resealed the deck. However, the issue worsened a few months later. Amanda continued the back-and-forth, making me wait for months at times. They now claim the warranty is up, though initially, it was just a few months after application that I contacted them. If a sealant was inappropriate, they should've informed me during the inspection. Even the owner resealed it. If resealing wasn't a viable solution, why offer it? It seems they aimed to run out the warranty. This company is highly unprofessional and won't take responsibility for their work. I've asked for a refund multiple times. Their motto 'Relationships matter more than the brush or the ladder' is far from the truth. They don't care about their work and they definitely do not care about their customers. I don't usually write reviews, but people deserve to know how subpar this company is. I'm beyond disappointed, out $600 for staining that didn't work and destroyed my deck, and now have to pay for a whole new deck. You better believe I will not be using this company to replace it.
