After working with general contractor Mason Carroll continuously for the last 6 months I have…read moreconcluded that he represents excellence and integrity in every aspect of job performance. I recommend him with enthusiasm and confidence. In spite of wintry weather, he has now concluded four home improvement projects which have included diverse taskings: construction of a 100 foot concrete retaining wall to include stabilization of a fence threatened by slope erosion, removal of concrete dog run and cracked concrete sidewalk, replacement and sealing of that concrete sidewalk, cleaning, repair and sealing/finishing a decorative stone porch, detection of origin of rainwater entry into the home with correction of the leakage fault, establishment of a roof/gutter water runoff drain field, surface grading and gravelling of a parking area, repair of a fractured roof truss, external door replacement, garage storage shelf installation, installation/wiring of internal and external lighting fixtures, installation of stairstep grab bars. These jobs were performed not just satisfactorily, but well beyond my expectations. I will engage him for other repairs as funds allow. I find Mr. Carroll to be a prompt and able communicator by text and phone, a good judge of whether a contemplated project could go forward, a good planner who generates conceptual drawings for load considerations, a highly detailed job estimator and calculator of volume, slope and grade, a standard good-practice contract writer, a facile and skilled workman over a broad scope of demand, a possessor/operator of required machinery and laser levelers, an engineer-artisan with a good eye for a finished appearance, a person responsible to correct inadvertent collateral damage, and a workman who is highly ordered and remarkably fastidious in cleanup. His invoices are detailed and consistent with the initial contract. I think that his pay/compensation rates for labor performed and materials utilized are fair. He is licensed and bonded. I know by now that Mr. Carroll is an honest, fair, responsible, kind, well-trained and thoughtful man with high moral standards. He represents American ideals at their finest and walks the talk. His additional helpers are also people warranting trust. He has worked very hard in my behalf, and I believe that he does the same for everybody else.

My family had Fred from Landsite Development come out this morning to provide a quote/estimate for…read morethe following projects that we would like to have done on our property:  1) 24 foot long wall that is 18 inches to 24 inches tall.  2) Removal of about 2,500 square feet of decorative river rock  3) Several sections of pavers that need to be repaired on a back patio as well as the filling in of a fire pit and covering of the former fire pit with pavers to match. 4) 40 foot paver pathway on a side yard Fred arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time, which was very much appreciated. After viewing the area of the first project, which would be the build of a wall a foot in from the property line, Fred refused to even provide a bid on that project because when he asked about bringing equipment onto our neighbors property we told him he would not be able to do so because although the neighbor who is the homeowner is okay he is renting a room in his garage to someone who is very difficult and we do not want to cause problems. We have had other construction type companies recently (as of September 2020) come onto our property to do work near the property line and when they've asked to bring equipment onto the neighbors property and we've told them "no" those companies have said "okay" and have just brought the equipment on to our property without issue instead. After not being willing to provide a bid on the first project, we showed him the next, which was the removal of river rock from the front yard. He said he would have to charge an hourly fee for that and because of that he refused to provide us an estimate on that project. On to the next project, which would be the repair of multiple sections of pavers that have caved in on two paver patios we have in the back as well as the filling in of an unused fire pit in the middle of one of the patios and installation of pavers to match. Fred looked at the two patios and said that they don't work on those projects and refused to provide an estimate/bid on that project.  After that, Fred didn't even take a look at the last project we needed done which was the installation of a 40 foot paver walkway. Even though Landsite Development's website states--and pictures of completed projects from other reviewers online serve to bolster--that they take on projects like the repair of paver patios, the building of walls, and the installation of paver walkways, when you try to get an estimate to get those projects done they claim that they do not do said projects.   Because of all of the above, I would not recommend anyone waste their time by contacting Landsite Development who needs paver patios repaired, paver walkways installed, walls built, and rocks removed. Our project would have been a larger project than any of the photos that I've seen online from other reviewers and we are very dismayed that we were refused an estimate.

We hired Ferraro to pour a new concrete floor in our basement…read more An area of about 800 sq ft, so not too big. This was our first cement project so we had to rely and trust this guy on doing a good job. The only information he told us was that there would be a "few" cracks A few weeks later (job was done in June 2020), we noticed lots of cracks. About 18-20 cracks for a total of apx. 105 feet. This was not just a "few" cracks. When we complained, he sent 2 of his guys to fix the cracks. Well that made no difference! You can still see them and they have since gotten bigger and deeper!! Later that year, we talked to couple of other concrete contractors. They said Ferraro should have used re-barb and/or steel mesh. Also put in a few control joints, like you see in sidewalks. We would have been willing to pay him more if he would have done this. But instead we ended up with a badly done job!!!!

If I could give no star ratings for Ferraro Concrete I would. I was put off in the beginning,…read morethen finally came the days to prepare and pour concrete on my steps sidewalk and driveway. It looked great for exactly 2 weeks. Then the whole driveway started to "eggshell" and a crack appeared. Ferraro concrete sealed the driveway for winter so they would be responsible. In the spring the crack was bigger, and there were 2 more cracks. The end of the driveway is chipping away. The sidewalk is sloped so the water goes into my garage and floods it when it rains. When it freezes it comes a dangerous pool of ice. I have contacted Chris Ferraro the owner dozens of times, sent him photos. It is a year later and he has yet to return to my residence to physically assess the damages and fix it. I have remained in contact at his request and keep getting put off. At what point does Ferraro concrete finally step up and take responsibility for a job NOT done well. Their customer service is non existent. DO USE FERRARO CONCRETE FOR YOUR DRIVEWAY AND SIDEWALK NEEDS!!!!!!!!!
