So , we live about 20 minutes from Bay City . My wife just drove to town to get dinner at 9er's . We ordered our meals - supposed to come with two sides . She gets back home and unpacks all the meals and two sides were missing , so we call them up . Their response was " you ordered loaded potatoes , those count as two sides , so we didn't include the other two sides you ordered " My response was did my wife order the other two sides ? The woman said yes . Did you tell my wife they would be an extra charge and give her the option ? No we just didn't charge you for them and didn't include them . So what's the point of placing an order then , if you're going to decide what you feel like serving us ? Why not just say $ ? Per plate , you get what we feel like giving you ? When this place first opened, it was fantastic! They made the best eggs benedict I've ever had at a restaurant! After a few years, however, the quality is questionable. I was the first in the door on a Sunday morning. I would advise looking at the breakfast menu before arriving. The display menu is a jumbled confusing mess. I ordered the grandma scramble and it wasn't bad but not worth $13.21. I won't get it again. Beans microwaved from yesterday, potatoes microwave from yesterday, cheese was unmelted pre shredded cheese, no one needs 4 pieces of toast. The menu needs clarity. So much good food! We were on our way back from Corpus and were getting hungry, and decided we wanted a burger. Checked yelp, and this place came up. Okay, good reviews, let's go! They were busy when we got there, and there was a line, and it probably would have moved quickly, but the people at the counter had never been there and had so many questions. I get it, but just wish they could have opened another register or helped other customers as well. Ah well, it gave us time to study the menu. Once I got in there, I debated on not getting a burger as so many other things sounded good. but decided to stick to the original plan. You stand in line and order at the counter, and they call your number when it's ready. It came out quickly, but not so quickly you wonder if they just microwaved it. The burger was fantastic! Really big and juicy and delicious. The fries were fine, but I gave most of mine to my hubby, as I usually do, since I'm just not a fan. We ordered Togo here. We got a chicken fried steak (shown with white gravy) and a side of mashed potatoes. The girl on the phone asked if I wanted extra gravy for my potatoes for 59¢ and I said yes please. We also ordered a side house salad with ranch. Our order did not come with a single drop of gravy at all and no ranch as well. I may could be a little more understanding if I was missing only the extra gravy. But missing every bit of gravy (on a very dry piece of meat) as well as getting a salad with no dressing, I was irritated. Just check your orders before you walk out when placing Togo. read more

I see some mixed reviews and I can understand why. It's set up like a fast food restaurant. You stand in line and order your food you get your own drinks and when you're meal is ready you go get it. Our order was ready in a timely manner they called our number I retrieved our food. The breakfasts we ordered were plated well but they served the wife one broke yoke. This is my 2nd time here (1st time was at the Wharton Location) the Bay City location was open last week. Delicious burgers and appetizers. The place is very clean, quick service, and has outside seating. I've only had burgers, fried pickles, and fried mushrooms here. We were driving back up from Matagorda beach at 8:00 PM on Sunday night trying to decide what to get for dinner; a lot of Bay City is closed at that time. I felt like crispy chicken salad, my wife felt like steak. She called and placed the order, we picked it up at 8:30 and took it back to our hotel room. The salad was really fresh with a lot of chicken in it. The steak was a thin cut but cooked perfectly medium rare and the seasoning was spot on. Went here for breakfast. Daughters eggs were undercooked and my waffle was tasteless (and served with no butter). No problem, I'll add some syrup. Added a bit and decided not too bad. Went to add more and there are green flecks in the syrup I pour. Then I looked at the container...it was molded! I told the lady who was cleaning tables and she said ok well clean them! After paying $40 for 2 people and receiving our food I realized why no one was here. The food has no flavor whatsoever. The portions are huge but I had no desire to finish the food. I'm surprised by how bad the burger was. Most of the menu has tape over it hiding the prices so you don't know how much of a fortune you're spending until it's too late. My wife and I decided to have Breakfast the other morning and we had been assured that The Niners had the best breakfast in town. Now this really isn't saying much because there are no true Breakfast Restaurants in Bay City. My wife ordered Biscuits and Gravy, and I opted for a Breakfast Platter of Eggs, Hashbrowns, Biscuits, and Sausage Links and Bacon. I asked to substitute additional Bacon for the Sausage Links. When our food arrived I had no sausage as I had requested but no additional bacon. My wife upon tasting her Biscuits and Gravy commented that they had no taste and that the very small biscuits were cold, tasteless and appeared to be previously prepared and likely frozen. She ate only three bites before pushing her plate aside. My bacon was grilled to perfection, the hash brown's were undercooked and cold, and my eggs undercooked and devoid of any taste whatsoever. I had to agree with her assessment that the biscuits were not freshly prepared, very small and tasteless. Only two flavors of jelly was available. Strawberry and Grape. While these are the most popular jellies, it would be great to have some variety. It appeared that there was sufficient staff for a, let's face it, "Fast Food Restaurant" of this size, but they obviously are suffering from a lack of training in dealing with the public...not surly in general, but almost a universal lack of good Customer Care. First time here. Stood in a short line to look at the menu up on the wall & then order at the cash register. Got a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with fries, and a Wild West Grilled Chicken (has avocado on it) sandwich w. potato salad (to substitute the fries), and two unsweetened teas. The food came out pretty fast. Both sandwiches were really good. A lot of great, crisp steak fries; mustard potato salad was good. Ice tea is brewed, not instant. We shared a great piece of pie (many to choose from). The owner buys the pies from The House of Pies in Houston and brings them to the restaurant. No wonder it was so good. The restaurant and the bathrooms were clean. Will definitely go back the next time we're in town. read more

All I can say is... the restrooms smelled like methane, no doubt it is the worst smelling bathroom I have ever had the displeasure of using, gaged multiple times. Once I got my food I was already disgusted but it was genuinely awful, fries under cooked and greasy, burger over cooked and greasy, all the food was freezer burnt. My bowels grown with the distaste, my mistake of eating half the burger will probably cost me a few hours on the ol can... I will never eat at a 9ers again. read more

Passing through Easter Sunday looking for something Open. Should have gone to the Whatabuger nextdoor instead. Would have been Much Happier. First, we stood at the counter for several minutes before the cashier ever acknowledge we we there & ready to order. Oredered a Philly w/ Fries, Chopped Beef Potato (toppings on side), side salad (Blue Cheese), and Fried Mushrooms. Fried Mushrooms were best of the group but overly Salty. Fries I would order again. Side salad had over a tablespoon of water in the bottom of the bowl. (Side salad!!). Philly was heavy on Mayo, light on cheese, they forgot the Onion and no Bell Pepper. Agreed, menue did not mention Green Pepper but in my opinion, it should have peppers. Bake Potato was a little under cooked but not bad. Typical toppings on the side - OK. Chopped Beef also came in a cardboard cup in a gloppy sweet sauce. Beef was decent & tender. Was not real impressed with the sauce. Texture was strange... syrupy. Too sweet for my preference. Asked Casheir 3 times what pies were in the Case & 3 times ahe muttered something in a Whisper, we never understood. Restraunt was Clean & and the Head Cook was pleasant & accommodating when I went back for the missing onions. For $35 & 2 meals, I would have been happier paying that next door at Whatabuger or down the street at DQ. read more

This place puts out a fantastic burger. Stopped in for lunch while my wife was in a training class. I've never heard of the place so I was willing to try a new place. Service was great, food even better. They have lots of menu options...burgers, chicken plates, burritos, salads. I don't think you can go wrong.
