I say that with a bit of my tongue in my cheek because everyone knows that satellite communications are just a part of the overall package of a ship's communication system the high frequency or HF radio system is another part of that package and the globe wireless' radio station at this spot in California certainly fills another part of that need.

I used to be a DJ here from 1996 to 1998 and it was a great experience and still is a great station…read moreto listen to because of all the diverse music formats and shows the station had to offer featuring under represented music not found on commercial radio where I came across a lot of excellent music from a punk metal hard perspective as well as opened up my mind to other genres including jazz up to walking away with a production piece keepsake of my own. KSJS is a gateway and experience for those wanting to learn about broadcasting etc. and a great way to meet and work with good people. My passion was more audio over video and left with the basics of digital audio editing that can now be done with simple software on a home computer. For those at KSJS and however you are involved in the station enjoy your time there and get the most out of it. For those listening be open minded and stop judging the occasional belch because I got away with a lot more on A 2 to 6 am shift which would never have been possible on commercial radio and probably said at least one thing in the early am during a traffic report that probably was not ideal but not offensive. It was a wild time for me back in day meeting drunken rhythm Jazz and blues artists and being in close quarters with them laying down legal ids and liners from then station one of which was featured on a sports weekly segment because it was off the wall funny. Those days I do miss and wish I would have stayed involved longer but the real world called me in 1998 and I started my next chapter. Highly recommend the experience to SJSU students regardless of their major and to judgmental listeners, cut the station a break as you might not find this style of college radio or freedom anywhere else. Tune in online and phone in your requests and if it meshes with the DJs show the you might find it honored in 15 minutes or less as the technology is more instantaneous depending on your request. I wish KSJS well now and in the future with many years of longevity to come and yes it will change with history. Wild times in the 20th century and wild times today and KSJS covers it all. Sreeja(fav RJ ever)/ altu faltu all moved on, the lady who does…read morethe 7-10 show in place of Sreeja needs to do something about her nasal voice and her radio diction(personal opinion, she may have a group of followers already). Classic example of how the owners of this radio station managed to ruin something that was fantastic and well balanced into a tune in to keep you awake when driving kinda radio. Still a decent radio network which brings in tax consultants/ financial advisors/ legal and estate attorney's who keep this channel active and fun to listen to.

Vintage Iron Core Transformers 1:1 & 1:2…read more I'd like to thank Danny from Big Noise for the vintage Iron Core Transformers, they not only enhance the sound of my mixes, but they bring a warmth and dynamic range to my audio that plug-ins just cannot seem to offer. Well worth the price and great communication from Danny. No need to spend thousands of dollars on a Compressor just to use the transformers when you can focus in on these to build with Audio in and Audio out in stereo and/or double-mono. I highly recommend these with a 5 out of 5 star rating!!!!
