We actually left before our time expired because it started pouring rain. 2 Months later, the first communication I ever received was a collection letter from an attorney claiming I owed $55 for a parking notice that was allegedly issued at 5:30 PM, which was still 26 minutes before my paid parking expired. I never received a parking ticket or any prior notice. I have disputed the charge and submitted my proof of payment with timestamps. The parking operator should be able to verify the timing through their own records and camera footage. Based on this experience, I would not park here again.

The Pompano Beach Pier Garage is located at NE 2nd Street between A1A and Pompano Beach Boulevard…read more It was built to accommodate the traffic from the Pompano Beach Fishing Village project. The project to build the garage commenced on June 24, 2015 and was completed on June 30, 2016. The five level parking garage has 609 parking spaces and 6,000 sq ft of retail space on the ground level that includes Salt Life to the west and How You Brewin Coffee Company to the east. The City's first Tourism Visitor Center is also located on the ground floor. Parking rates are quite reasonable, $1.80 per hour Monday through Friday and $2.50 per hour on the weekends. My favorite part of the garage is the art covering it. The outside is adorned by a series of twelve canvas-wrapped LED-lit aluminum sails. On the exterior of the southeast stairwell is the mural Reef Life from South Florida based street artist and muralist Taylor Smith, AKA DREAMWEAVER. This is not only a convenient and affordable place to park, it looks great too.

The Cove has some exciting new developments. Three new food and drink projects recently opened. These include the 46 year old Cove Restaurant and Tiki Bar which got a 6.5 million dollar makeover. Since 1977, the intracoastal waterfront Cove Restaurant has been a favorite of the Deerfield Beach community. The renovation project was spearheaded by developer Lou Moshakos who runs Oceanic and Lucky Fish Pompano. Mosakos has many fond memories of knocking back drinks with his wife after working at the Seafood Shanty. When the restaurant came up for sale he decided to purchase and restore it. Changes to the restaurant include a new chef and Key West style makeover of the tiki bar. On the opposite end of the plaza is the new 2.15 million dollar Cove Brewery with a 8,500 square foot brewhouse and taproom. The brewery anchors a 24,000 square foot warehouse that houses four new businesses including the recently opened Won-Tom's restaurant. I am exited to check out the changes to the plaza but I also enjoy dining at The Sticky Bun for breakfast , Modern Rose for light bites and coffee, and Patricia's of New York for dinner. Other businesses include jewelry stores, laundry, bridal stores, legal, banking, medical, and beauty services, clothing stores, pubs, and many other restaurants. If there is one drawback to The Cove it is that parking can be hard to come by. Complicating matters is the fact that people park here and walk over to the beach. If there is a festival going on you can forget about finding a space. Lou Moshakos has purchased roughly 2 acres of land next to The Cove and is considering building a parking garage to alleviate the parking headache. So many locals and tourists have fond memories of going to The Cove through the years . The new businesses and next phase of development will bring even more good times.

Located near the intracoastal waterway, this strip center has it all: restaurants, gift shops, several offices, bridal stores, boutiques and even a catering venue called Royal Fiesta. Sometimes the plaza has events like farmers markets, car shows etc. This is a fun shopping center because not only is it walking distance to the beach but it has a full marina and a path leading to Sullivan Park. It's so much fun people watching because you get to see people walking their dogs, riding their bikes, or just walking around enjoying the many stores and restaurants. The largest and most well known restaurant is Two George's; great for relaxing with an adult beverage on the water. There's also a family owned Italian restaurant called Antonio's, Sticky Bun for breakfast & lunch, Modern Rose Teahouse, Kava Lounge, French & Mexican restaurants, and American Rock Bar & Grill. There is something for everyone, so I can assure you that you won't go hungry. Many of the restaurants are dog friendly which I think is awesome especially since I plan on adopting another fur baby soon. Saving the best for last; my favorite restaurant in the plaza is Casa Maya. They serve the most delicious Mexican food and there is a small bar if you want to pop in for a margarita. It gets pretty loud but the food is worth it. The plaza is home to two bridal stores (Bellissima & Casa De Bridesmaids), a high end dress shop (Sondro), law offices, a tattoo shop, several stores as well as nail & massage places. The Cove shopping center is easy to find. Head east on Hillsboro & it's right before the bridge on the south side of the road. Lots of parking too. :-)

Upon entry, you press a button to receive a ticket, the gate lifts, and you're in. Parking is available on floors 2 through 5 (possibly 6). There are plenty of spaces, and the garage is two-way, with designated one-way ramps for entering and exiting from the first floor. Each level has clear signage indicating the garage name and floor number, which makes it easy to navigate. One standout feature is how well-lit the garage is. I especially appreciated this when returning to my car after sunset. There is both a stairwell and two elevators for access. Once you reach street level, helpful signage directs you toward nearby restaurants and shops (see photos for reference). When leaving, bring your ticket back to your car and head to the exit on the first floor. Insert your ticket into the machine to pay by card, or pay cash with the attendant. On a Tuesday night, I paid $8.50 for just over two hours, which felt very reasonable.
