On a voucher, and we got good value. The voucher is $39 for two people; two entrees at $7.90, two mains at $17.90, two set desserts...and two drinks. We scored a good park down a side street so we were in a pretty good mood before we walked in.
The place is huge. I think it may have been a bank in years gone by. Unlike other restaurants, the ceiling had sound proofing, soft chairs and a short wall running the length of the restaurant with large cushions. Whilst there weren't too many people there last night, I can imagine that the restaurant is reasonably quiet with lots of people.
The decor is good and what impresses is the Tuk Tuk at the front door.
The service was excellent with plenty of attention to refilling our water jug and providing ice.
As for the food.....really good. We paid an extra dollar for the mixed entree. Next time we will concentrate on the chicken satays. Then we tried two dishes we had not had before. The Choo Chee lamb was beautiful. The roast duck basil had the right amount of spice and heat for us too. Not quite sure what the dessert was as it was set. It had coconut milk and a non sweet jam as a base. The waiter said "Are you ready for dessert? It is yummy." I agreed. Not so sure about my dining buddy who was drinking coca cola and possibly wanted something sweeter ;-)
The parking is a bit of a problem but it is worth the walk if you do have to park a little further down the road. read more
