After my husband passed away, I wanted a reliable lawn service I could trust. I paid $110 every two weeks, expecting professional care. Instead, each visit lasted about 10 minutes -- just a quick mow, no edging, minimal weeding, and no attention to bushes or vines. I was told edging was included, but it never was. For the price, the service was rushed and incomplete. I've since canceled and hired another provider. If you're considering this company, be very clear up front about what's included. Absolutely unacceptable experience. Do not recommend. My father and I hired 855-RI-Lawns for aeration and seeding, and what we received was completely unprofessional from start to finish. After nearly two weeks, what's growing on our lawn is not grass--it's thick, clumpy, and unsightly, especially in the front yard. This is not what we paid for. When we reached out for help, we were met with rude and dismissive responses from someone named Steve. Instead of inspecting the property in person or offering to fix the issue, he responded sarcastically, claimed the lawn looked "better," and told us we were no longer clients. He even had the nerve to threaten to call the police if we contacted them again--all because we were following up on a service we paid for that was clearly done poorly. No one ever came out to inspect the results in person. Photos don't tell the full story, and a responsible company would've at least sent someone out to assess and resolve the issue. I also reached out to the CEO on Facebook to report this completely unprofessional conduct and am still waiting for a response. It's shocking to be treated this way by a company that advertises itself as customer-focused. Bottom line: Save your money, avoid the stress, and look elsewhere. Told me they were going to show up on the 19th. Waited all day and finally at 5:45 that evening I text to see where they were. Got told they were moving me to the next week. When I said a heads up would have been nice as I waited all day, the response was "it is what it is" and "can't you be flexible" with some other excuses about its the busy season and that is the landscaping business. I called and they the guy I spoke to was very professional and extremely customer service oriented with I believe in my heart true care and concern for the customers needs. They came and the gentleman were very respectful when they got there and asked questions about how we want everything done and did a fantastic job in less time then we expected because our lawn was so high. Received a quote that we agreed to. Day of cleanup, crew spent as much time on phones as actually working. They did not complete the work and left. I sent a message, complaining about the quality of their work and the fact that they did not finish the job. Crew came back and finished the job and then charged us more than the original quote. When I complained about this, the owner told me I should be grateful that they didn't charge me for the second dump fee (to complete the job they had agreed to). Avoid if you don't like surprise $3500 bills. This company quoted us $695 for a fall cleanup. We were aware that our lawn was in bad shape due to my pregnancy and an accident that left my husband unable to do yard work for some time. I emailed them letting them know that the $695 was the maximum we could spend. We scrimped and saved for that $695 to get a lawn clean up because, despite the fact that we could barely afford it, we felt a responsibility to our neighborhood to keep our lawn in good shape. Not being in physical shape to do it, hiring a company was our only option. We had never paid for a lawn cleanup before, so as far as we knew, $695 was a reasonable price. They came and cleaned our yard. Then a few days later, with no offer of a receipt or warning, my credit card was charged $3,500. This was right before Christmas, no less. When we asked for an explanation, they informed us that the yard was in bad shape (isn't that what an estimate is for?) and that the day they arrived we had asked to add on a large part of the yard that wasn't in our original estimate (this was completely untrue, we assumed our entire yard was part of the estimate and no one informed us that they had made an error regarding our property lines). We attempted to discuss this with them, but they simply stopped responding. I understand that this is a business transaction and emotions don't enter into it... but this company's dishonesty and shady dealing have had a significant impact on my family's finances. We have had to make difficult choices that impact our children. This is why I've chosen to leave reviews. Unfortunately, since they never sent us a receipt, my credit card company is unable to take any action. At this point I can only assume they knew this would be the case. read more

I have been using a Cut Above Lawn Care for the past couple years. The service has been great and the company has been very flexible. A couple years ago we had a horrific winter and I had a lot of downed trees and limbs. Come spring, my property looked like a disaster area. One call to A Cut Above and they took care of everything. I left my personal disaster area for work one morning, and when I came home it was like nothing happened. All the debris was gone, property mowed and trimmed, and the driveway thoroughly cleaned off. I've always been happy with the work they perform with only ONE _partial_ complaint. Last year the guys were mowing my lawn when their mower picked up a rock and threw it into the side of my BMW. It left a nice big dent right in the middle of the door. Before I even realized this had happened, the guys came to my front door to apologize. Not only did they immediately express their regrets, but they also contacted the office to let them know what happened. When I called into the office a half hour later, they already knew the deal and had their insurance company on the ready. They fully covered the damage to the vehicle as well as a rental car for a week. So why do I still give them 5 stars? It's simple. Mistakes and accidents can happen, and in this case there's no use getting upset. I was most impressed with how promptly they dealt with the issue. I made an appt for them to come and do an estimate at my house. They came out on May 7 and I discussed the different areas that I wanted cleaned up and was told I would receive an estimate in 3 business days. I didn't receive anything from the company until May 18 and the email basically told me they did not have time to come out and perform the work at my home. While I was annoyed with this, I understand that the summer time is a busy season. I would not be writing a review if it was left at that. However, then on May 22 I get another email saying that my estimate is attached. I opened the estimate and it was an "estimate" for $50 for them to come and do a quote at my home. I was never told that the estimate would cost any money and therefore chose to ignore this email. From there I have received multiple emails, text messages and a phone call asking me to approve the "work". When I finally texted them back and explained that I will not pay for an estimate that I was never told about paying for upfront, they responded with a thanks for the update. I told them that next time they need to tell someone upfront that an estimate will cost money and that they wasted my time coming out for a quote they never intended on giving me. To this they responded that their worker never told them he came out. Sounds to me like they are having an incredible communication break down. I would not recommend using this company. read more

They were able to provide the details but it would have benefited for me to know in advance or at least be within a relatively close margin. Their attention to detail shows. I recently heard one employee say, they are told to "take your time & do it right" & that is evident in their work.
