I'm an older bride at 55, I didn't have inspiration photos but just shared the look and colors I was looking for and she nailed it. I found out about 805 Makeup through Vanessa Marin as she's posted about and recommended Lacey on socials a bunch and I was so pleased I was able to book her for my wedding. She and my hairstylist, Sierra from Santa Barbara Bridal, have worked together before and so it was so fun to have two women who were already comfortable and friendly with each other. Lacey had actually recommended Sierra to me when I asked for hairstylist recommendations, so that was perfect. Now, I really didn't know exactly what I wanted makeup-wise for my wedding because I really don't wear a ton of makeup on a regular basis. I obviously wanted to amp up the look a bit for my wedding, but I still wanted to look like myself. Lacey went above and beyond. The trial impressed me so much. She came up with a look and eye makeup colors that complemented my natural look so so well. I looked like myself, but just with better foundation/coverage and features that popped more. Lacey was able to give me some suggestions for products that I may want to purchase for reapplying throughout the wedding day and I still use and love those lipsticks. For the actual wedding day, Lacey was a calming and lovely presence to have. She and Sierra worked seamlessly together and it was so fun to just have two wonderful ladies by my side for the big day. She ensured I was comfortable after applying everything, which was a feat because I was picky with my eyes bothering me with some of the individual lashes that she applied - she stuck around making sure I was totally comfortable. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lacey! I live in LA but got married in Santa Barbara County, so I wanted to find someone local to the area to do my makeup but didn't know where to start. I am very much into the natural, "no makeup" makeup look and wanted someone whose aesthetic lined up with mine. I booked Lacey for a trial in November after finding her online after lots of searching. Not only did Lacey do an incredible trial look on me, but in the months between the trial and my wedding, we communicated as some of my preferences/ideas changed. She was always super responsive, had great ideas that she bounced off of me, and most importantly, totally affirmed all of my choices and decisions about my makeup. She came the day of the wedding with all of her notes, and I knew I didn't need to reiterate anything we had talked about as she was meticulously organized about all of our communication. Worth every penny!!! 805 Makeup exceeded my expectations in every aspect! Lacey was recommended to me by my wedding coordinator, so I signed up for a trial with her and Laura to do hair and make-up a little less than 2 months out from my Santa Barbara wedding. First impression- gorgeous ladies who "wear" their own art and extremely professional. The trial was a blast- we really hit it off and I couldn't believe the results. I am a natural redhead and am very specific about how foundation looks, eyebrow color, etc., and it was gorgeous. My hair was divine, even though I didn't have the actual hair piece that I would wear the day-of, we made 'do (ha!) and the ladies took pictures and notes about everything we discussed. The trial was a little on the expensive side but worth it for my peace of mind. Between the trial and wedding day, Lacey was very quick to respond to any questions I had, even when I had some ideas about changes. She was open to whatever route I wanted to take. The day of my wedding she arrived early to get everything set up and treated me, my mom and sister like queens. I have NEVER seen my mother look better, it was incredible. My sister also has very high standards for hair and make-up, and we both have had ours done a lot and agreed that this was far and away the best we'd ever had. Even though we were crunched for time at the end (due to issues at the hotel), Lacey stayed calm and left me feeling radiant. My make-up held up beautifully the entire event (from 3p- 1:30a), despite crazy winds, a few tears and lots of dancing, I didn't even need to apply powder once. Normally I like to check my make-up a lot during events but every time I glimpsed a mirror it was still flawless! At the end of the night back in our suite I could not believe how perfect it still looked and was sad to wash it off. Beyond amazing!! I came across Lacey and 805 Makeup on Instagram and loved the natural, gorgeous looks of the girls on their wedding day. I was very nervous about getting my makeup done for my own wedding - I lean towards sporty and not very proficient with my own makeup (I've always been a quick concealer and mascara girl) and was incredibly nervous that I was going to look like anything but myself. I reached out to Lacey about 6 months prior to my wedding to schedule a hair and makeup trial and oh my gosh am I soooo happy that I did! After the initial trial I was certain that Lacey and Laura (for hair) would do a fantastic job glamming up me and my girls.
