Unity installed 2 heat pumps in April2023, One of them never worked. It was hot that summer, but we…read morewere patient and went with the gaslighting. James, the owner, told us he had registered our system for warranty, and also told us twice that he had filed a warranty claim for the head (Gree only takes claims through installers). He hadn't. The local distributor kindly promised to do that for us, in January. James took weeks to answer emails, *until we used the word 'lawyer.'* My husband said that besides lying, James didn't seem to know what he was doing, so we got a second opinion hoping to get the heat pump functioning before summer 2024, more than a year later. Another contractor examined the work, and found many issues like connections, wires, voltage, refrigerant. We will be paying this new company whatever it takes to get the system functional. UPDATE: We were delighted that it only took refrigeration and electrician visits, and $1,000 to get our heat pump working! The diagnosis was wrong wires, connections - basically everything done incorrectly. I can say one of the two heat pumps James installed, even though it is not the size we agreed on and is in an awkward place, was working. In the fall we reached behind that compressor to clean leaves, and the wiring fell off! James couldn't even screw on a wire properly! We also found that he had used 110v wires where 220v wiring was needed. tldr, James at Unity was incompetent, took weeks to respond, and wasn't truthful. Strongly caution against using Unity.
