We hired Marva to cater our wedding and I'm so happy we found her! -Matched my style: I wanted rustic Italian food that was high quality and interesting (not just pasta and a boring chicken/steak option) that everyone could have conversation over - like a big, Italian family reunion. Marva's background living in Italy made her a great option for us. -Original recipes for menu choices: Marva gave us tons of great options for our menu that were unique and familiar at the same time (polenta lasagna, spinach and feta stuffed chicken, a red pepper dip my husband is obsessed with) so I felt that our menu was unique but not so out there that guests didn't know what the choices were. -Cooks from scratch: I love that Marva's cooking is all from scratch and she doesn't use fake flavorings or cheap alternative (e.g., sometimes Italian wedding cookies are made with almond flavor instead of actual almond meal and it makes a HUGE difference - Marva goes through the expense of using real almonds and it's so good!). -Didn't need to hire separate appetizer/dessert caterer: Marva really simplified my wedding planning by taking on ALL of our food - charcuterie for cocktail hour, all dinner courses, and dessert. She catered our cocktail hour, dinner, and dessert for an amazing price. I don't see how I could have beat the price if I did the cooking myself. -Lovely person: Marva got the job done, but she was also so friendly along the way. We had a meal with her to try out her cooking early on, and she let us use rosemary from her garden for decorating our wedding. She was wonderful to work with. Highly recommend! We will be coming back to her to get more red pepper spread just for the heck of it, we loved it! read more

7th Heaven Gourmet - Cookies and cheesecake bites (not wedding cake) by Marva. We were overflowing with cookies! :) - Caterers Near Me

Marva is the most amazing person to work with. I had her cater my 40th birthday party just last week at a Disneyland hotel in Anaheim. She came with all of the food in separate aluminum foil trays, carefully packaged in kept in a temperature-controlled bag. She had everything organized, which is why set-up took less than 5 minutes. As for the food, it was divine. My guests were raving about her meat lasagna, and even the most carnivorous in the bunch loved her vegetarian lasagna. (My son to this day doesn't know that it had vegetables!) For sure, even the pickiest eaters will like one of her dishes. Her desserts were nothing short of exquisite. She made these bite-sized tarts with a sweet lemony custard and fruit in the middle, as well as chocolate. But my favorite was her chocolate and walnut shortbread --- it is crumbly at the bottom, but the chocolate ganache on the top is not too sweet but creamy and has that lovely mouthfeel. She will work with you around your budget limitations, and even if I told her 40 people were coming, she made sure there was extra to go around, in case people were ravenous. :) Generous and honest to a fault, she even drove to my home to give me back the money I gave to her to use for parking (since it was charged to my hotel room). She drove all the way from Hesperia to my house in San Dimas just for that. If you are looking for a good caterer, call Marva. Her 13 years of living and cooking in Italy will be obvious in the food she serves you. It is hard to find hard-working and honest people --- Marva won't give you any issues when it comes to delivering what she promises. I give her 10 stars for sure, and I am proud to say I am a happy repeat customer! read more

Perfect! This is the only word I can use to convey how incredible Marva Marrow was catering our dear friend's 60th birthday and retirement dinner held in our home. When I began researching caterers, I entered " best caterer in the high desert" into search engine. I thoroughly researched the top five recommendations and called Marva on the phone to interview her. After talking with her a few minutes, it was quickly evident that her five star reviews were extremely accurate. She is highly professional, passionate, and extremely knowledgeable about Italian and Mediterranean food. She is an outstanding communicator and very easy to talk to. In addition, her incredible array of delights were a huge hit at our party. Guests were raving all night. In fact, several days later they are still calling to get her phone number! Marva served her special meatballs with sweet chili tomato sauce, risotto balls, caprese salad skewers, homemade focaccia with herb olive oil, stuffed vegetarian mushrooms with three gourmet Italian sauces, and bruschetta with artisan bread. For dessert, she served fresh fruit mini tarts with homemade lemon curd and chocolate mousse. All of her dishes are made from scratch and everything she served was not only authentic and delicious, it was artistically presented. Marva took care of every little detail throughout the evening and completely spoiled us all. The guests at our party were raving about her delicious assortment of appetizers and lovely personality. Everyone adored her. Marva is an absolute gem. Perfect is truly the only way to describe Seventh Heaven Catering! read more

I came across 7th Heaven Gourmet catering while looking for a vegetarian and vegan food option for some of my wedding guests. I spoke with Marva regarding my situation and she provided me with a list of catering options she was able to provide. Marva helped me figure out what would be best for my guests. I ended up choosing the vegetarian lasagna, Israeli couscous, Gardein strips and grilled veggies. The vegetarian lasagna was enjoyed even by our non vegetarian guests. Our vegan guests were very appreciative of the great food we provided for them as well. Before our big day, Marva made sure she knew the details of our wedding reception so that the food was delivered and set up prior to our scheduled dinner time. I highly recommend 7th Heaven Gourmet catering. read more

Marva is the BEST! We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding caterer - especially if you don't want to worry about one of the most important aspect of your big day! Feel free to reach out to us for further recommendation anytime! (Oh, & definitely try her Chocolate Shortbread Bites!!) read more

We used Marva and her Catering Company for our wedding yesterday everyone enjoyed all the food and the servers were spot on. We will definitely use this Company again. They are amazing Thank you Marva read more

I used 7th Heaven Gourmet for a large event we hosted last week. Marva customized our menu (delicious by the way) and provided that extra touch that made a great impression on all my guests. We are still mindful of socially distancing even though we were able to safely gather together and Marva was able to provide everything individually packaged so we could enjoy. I would highly recommend 7th Heaven Gourmet. Definitely keeping her number for my high desert catering needs. read more

We had Marva cater at our intimate wedding reception in Twin Peaks this last weekend and the weather forecast said that there's going to be a snow storm all weekend. The weather condition got so bad that she could not drive anymore with her car. We had someone pick her up with a 4x4, and Marva kept in communication the entire time and tried her best to make sure she gets here with the food and have everyone fed. She is so genuine and sweet and most of all, a wonderful cook. Her tiramisu was absolutely heavenly. Marva is reliable, talented, and professional super sweet. Book her and you won't regret it one bit. read more

I asked Marva to prepare a surf and turf meal for me and my daughter for a special occasion. It wasn't cheap. I was Greatly Disappointed in the presentation. There was none. I expected personal chef services but I think Marva is more prone to catering. Service of food and dishes wasn't professional. I was embarrassed and felt cheated bc I wanted a beautiful dinner with clear expectations. Would have been better without big bussing bins. Desserts weren't unique and had just been used at a large catering event. Turn off. They are just a finger each full of desert. I wanted service. I can cook a steak that's for sure. The lobster was done fairly well. Mushrooms were cold with a weird spice. Bread never offered. I wanted to like the service but it just had too many flaws for this to be personal chef service. Well.....try something once. Additional Info: yes bread was offered forgot about that. I was told by Marva that she had deserts from an event she just did. Perhaps there was some miscommunication about whether desserts were fresh. It was primarily lack of professional chef service. read more

5 Stars! We contacted 7th Heaven to cater at the Boy Scouts Distinguished Citizen Award dinner after another caterer backed out at the last minute. 7th Heaven jumped right it and pulled off an amazing dinner for an extremely reasonable price! Best quality service, we couldn't have asked for more!!! Thank you very much 7th H for a wonderful dinner! We WILL be using this caterer again! read more

Hi All, I used Marva and her catering for my xmas eve party, and let me say that it impressed everyone. Firstly everything she cooked was really good, but really what was the best is that she has tons of options to choose from so you can create the perfect meal for people. I had a few people that were vegetarian, so we did a mix of veggie dishes and meat dishes and the veggie lasagna she made was a huge hit. Also the chicken with the lemon and capers was a HUGE hit, everyone loved that. And then to top it all off, when I bought out the homemade Tiramisu that she made at the end everyone fell off their chairs. I had some people here that have made homemade Tiramisu and even they said this was a top notch dessert. The pricing is based on per person, so make sure to email her and find out how many people you have. I had her make enough for 12 people and honestly it could've fed 16 people because we had plenty of leftovers! hank you Marva, and I will be using you again for events in the future! Easy set-up and easy clean up for the catering as well! read more

7th Heaven Gourmet catered our Holiday party dinner for 140 guests and the food was fabulous! Everyone loved the appetizers: stuffed mushrooms, chicken meatballs and crostini w/ bruschetta. The dinner was so flavorful with a beautiful specialty salad, grilled vegetables, Turkey Roulade, with vegetarian lasagna as a side dish. Our dessert was mini-cheesecakes and fruit tarts. Marva and her staff served everything smoothly and on time as per our schedule. I'm so lucky to have found 7th Heaven Gourmet. Finding a new caterer for a large dinner was a challenge, but Marva made the decision easy when she brought us samples of her most popular dishes so we could choose a menu that worked. I highly recommend 7th Heaven Gourmet for your catering needs. read more

Marva is Marvelous!!! I threw a baby shower for my daughter last weekend and hired Marva to do the catering. I found her online and read her reviews and decided to give her a shot. I was not disappointed! Everyone loved the food and asked for her info. Her 18 layer lasagna had to be my favorite. Thank you Marva! I will definitely use her again and highly recommended her. read more

I cannot say enough great things about 7th Heaven! We hired Marva and her team twice this year; once for a Casino Night for our property management company's residents and again for our staff Holiday Party. Both events went off without a hitch. She is the sweetest and hardest working lady with a ton of culinary experience. She was able to work within our budget and unique locations needs. The food was freshly prepared from scratch, kept hot/cold as needed, and delicious. Not only was the food a hit, but her desserts and appetizers were packed with flavor. It was a pleasure working with her all these months and hope to again in the future. read more

Hi all! We used Marva to cater for our crew out in the middle of the desert this past month and to say the least the crew loved everything about her food. It was such a nice meal to come to after working in the desert all day and Marva is such a nice and super helpful person. She is super easy to work with and very understanding. :) read more

Disappointed. My company ordered food from here because we needed it catered. At 11:30am I get a call to help carry it in! Really? The benefit of catering is not to carry it in! Then the foil pans that the food was brought in were clearly being reused over and over. Not sanitary. Supplies that were used to assemble the salad were old reused plastic gladware bowls! Eeeew! Not a very professional catering company. read more

Just a line to tell Marva what a fabulous job she did on our housewarming party . The food was just awesome and everyone is still talking about it...specially the pork roulade delicious! She's a wonderful chef. Can't wait to do it again. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH read more

Marva is AMAZING , I requested her to come up with a vegetarian/vegan menu for my son's sixteenth birthday party . She did an absolutely wonderful job , she was open to suggestions and went the extra mile having both vegetarian and vegan options for a lot dishes. Her preparations are very flavorful ,she uses fresh ingredients ,including all sauces prepared from scratch . The stuffed mushrooms and south asian tacos ( she added minced tofu at my request ) were an instant hit .She prepared a sumptuous main course with Gardein and barbecue sauce and polenta .My vegan nephew loved the chocolate tofu dessert. Our picky ,vegetarian/ vegan family and friends were pleasantly surprised to have a gourmet cook in our local area available for special ocasions. She is very pleasant ,meticulous and organized and her preparations are mouth watering and I would strongly recommend her. read more

Amazing food! Great service. Would highly recommend to anyone! The food is amazing quality. We will definitely use Marva again!

Marva is one of the best caterers i found ever. I hired her for my catering needs for my wedding, and boy did she sweep me off me feet. I searched on FB just to jump the gun and Im glad I did. From the beginning, it was very easy communicating with her via email. Very organized and very detailed. I had over 150 guests. Mind you, I was planning a wedding in 3 months time. But all throughout, she was very helpful accommodating this bridezilla and her coocoordinator. Planned a tasting during my bday, and she had about 5 different dishes for us to taste plus a little bday dessert. Everything was delicious. She took my heart away with her veggie lasagna. OMG! a definite must! For the wedding menu, we decided on a fruit salad with 5 spice, olive bruschetta, caprese skewers and babaganoush for appetizers, ca chicken salad and crispy potatoes for sides, chicken roulade, veggie lasagna, and london broil for entree. The price was more than perfect, she really listened to my concerns in the midst of planning. She has an ear for listening and she is very sweet, yet very honest and real. She genuinely cared for my husband and I. Til this day, I dream about her food. She is truly wonderful. You can feel her love and talent in her food. I am truly blessed to have found her for my big day. Marva, keep doing what you are doing. You are born for this and I tell everyone about you. I can't thank you enough. read more

7th Heaven Gourmet - Caterers Near Me

I tasted Marva's catering at a party and immediately hired her to cater two events. One was a dessert event featuring her fruit custard tarts and chocolate tarts. These were delivered to our arranged location on time and arranged beautifully in 4 large trays (approx 280 tarts). The crowd ate them up so fast, there were none left for me! The second event was a dinner party for my daughter's first communion. We ordered the meat and vegetarian lasagna, California orange salad, dessert tarts as described above, vegetarian stuffed mushrooms. All items were made from scratch and a big hit with our 20 or so guests (including kids). Marva arrived on time and set up all the food. Everything was included such as sturdy paper plates, napkins, clear plastic cups, utensils, serving spoons, tongs, and spatulas. She also gave us instructions for storing leftovers and now we have delicious lasagna in our freezer for many meals to come. I will definitely ask Marva to cater future events. read more

I also was at the Mother's Day luncheon and I can't say enough good things about the food! I had both lasagnas and they were both excellent! I think I had three helpings of the orange salad...it was that good! Thank you Marva! You were awesome as well! You took the time to interact with us and our event was amazing! read more

I highly recommend 7th Heaven Gourmet! We were so fortunate to find Marva available to cater our son's rehearsal dinner by the pool at Arrowhead Ranch. Marva was able to put together DELICIOUS vegetarian options(even made separate GF items for those who requested) that satisfied ALL! Every item had that homemade depth of freshness & flavor...and an original flair. Our menu was simple, yet exquisite!( roasted red pepper hummus w/toasted crostini & veggies, caprese skewers, sumptuous veggie lasagna, lemon chicken for the non-vegetarians, gourmet salad, foccacia and shortbread cookies to die for!) Thank you Marva for your attention, patience, talents & organization serving our family on this very special evening . read more

They served my friends wedding and the food was very fresh and tasty! Wonderful service :)

I had the opportunity to have a great lunch on Mothers day last Sunday. My husband and I had the delicious vegetarian lasagna with a fresh California orange salad. Seventh Heaven Gourmet catered my mother's 80th birthday party and everyone raved about the food. Marva was incredible to work with. We were planning everything long distance and she was very helpful with putting together the right menu. The lasagnes, salads and the appetizers were plentiful and delicious. We had bruschetta, caponata and chicken meatballs as appetizers; two salads, vegetarian and meat lasagnes as entrees, with focaccia. Just as impressive was the obvious pride that Marva takes in ensuring that everything was just right and everyone was satisfied. I highly recommend her. read more

Marva is a marvels chef, I tried her veggie lasagna and California orange salad and it was amazingly delicious I recommend it to anybody.

Marva made the most delicious VEGAN Thanksgiving dinner for our family of 25.

We had the pleasure of experiencing 7th Heaven Gourmet's catering services at a graduation party. The theme was Hawaiian. Marva was prepared, friendly and her food was very good. The food we chose was more family style and less artsy. It was cooked perfectly and all was nice and hot. Her desert was excellent, maybe even the highlight. There was tons of left overs which was nice since we could have eaten it over and over again. read more

I recently hosted a birthday party in lake arrowhead for some close friends. I interviewed many private chefs and this is the one I chose. Marva (the chef) listened to exactly what I wanted and everything turned out perfectly! She is super nice and professional. She made caprese salad, mushroom risotto, filet mignon with potatoes and vegetables and topped it all off with the best tiramisu I've ever had in my life! I don't usually like tiramisu but this was so light and delicious. I'm having withdrawals! The filet mignon was excellent quality and cooked to perfection. My mouth is watering just thinking of that dinner. I highly recommend Marva and will definitely use her services again. By the way, I am very picky and a total perfectionist. Two thumbs up and 5 stars! read more

Marva was great! I was so excited that she was available to come last minute up to Big Bear to cook dinner for a business meeting. The other 2 people I had sent requests to were not available but Marva was willing to move around her schedule and work with me on my budget. She arrived on time and was very pleasant. The food turned out wonderful with generous servings for everyone. No one went hungry that is for sure! The pork chop was cooked perfectly and the sides were excellent. I will definitely be in touch again. Thank you Marva for your great food and customer service, it was and is much appreciated! read more

Marva catered our family dinner celebration. The sausage meatballs were very tasty and the sweet chili sauce excellent. The Vegetarian lasagna reminded me of the texture of baked mac n cheese with an awesome crust atop and layers of complimentary flavors that burst in your mouth. I am a meat eater and kept going back for the veggie lasagna! We ended up with a local cake my beau surprised me in getting so we saved Marva's cheesecake. Oh boy, when we had it the next day, it was outstanding- it has a touch of lemon zest flavor and the cream on top was super yummy! We rated her cheesecake a 10 out of 10! read more

I hired Marva from 7th Heaven Gourmet to cook private dinner for a group of 8 this weekend and every single person had rave reviews of her food. She was professional but still friendly and it felt as if it was family member cooking dinner for us. She cooked us a 4 course meal beginning with Bruschetta and meatballs with marinara followed by a California salad. For the third course she made a wild mushroom risotto paired with a lemon chicken in a white wine sauce and focaccia. For desert she made lemon bars and cheese cake. Everything was made from scratch and I'd recommend every single dish she made for us. If I had to pick a favorite I'd say it was the meatballs and marinara or the risotto (and I don't like mushrooms). read more

Marva was incredible from the moment I reached out to her up until she left our dinner party! She was flexible, efficient, and thorough. We had a 30th birthday dinner party up in Lake Arrowhead at a cabin and just so happened to get a snow storm as a gift that evening. Marva never let the idea of not coming enter her mind. She was still determined to come up the mountain regardless of the rain, traffic, fog, and snow! She pleasantly surprised us with her arrival and then continued to exceed our expectations with her delicious stuffed mushrooms, beet, goat cheese, and walnut salad, and chicken piccata. Everyone was raving about the meal all night long. Marva was a joy to have in the kitchen and at our dinner! read more

7th Heaven Gourmet is awesome! I was looking for a caterer for my son's wedding in our home for 200 people and found her on yelp. Marva was amazing, kind, friendly and a joy to work with from start to finish. Her assistants were great too. And then there is her food. Everyone loved it! My personal favorite was her bruschetta with crustini. It is the best I have ever had. We also served her roasted red pepper spread with vegetables for appetizers. For dinner we had her fabulous strawberry summer salad with 2 kinds of pasta and homemade focaccia bread. Everything was so delicious. Then for dessert we had her fantastic cheesecake bites and and lemon bars. We had more than enough of everything for all our guests and Marva and her assistants worked joyfully and tirelessly to get everything set out, served and cleaned up. For our first time doing such a large event in our home, Marva made the whole process a joy and a great success. I would definately recommend 7th Heaven Gourmet and hope to use her again for more weddings in our family's future. Thank you Marva! read more
