Little Titch, Music hall artist, boots recently seen on QI. Exhibits at the gallery include shoes for animals - from horses, dogs and even elephants! Northampton was/is a shoe making town. This place is truely fascinating and gives a colourful insight into a transport system of times gone by. You can see working locks, boats and Blisworth Tunnel. See and experience a part of our heritage through working models, videos, pictorial and three dimensional displays portraying every aspect of the waterways including the harsh reality of canal life. There is something to interest all the family wheather it be the history or simple the fabulously painted merchandise that is availabe. If the museum is not enough, you can float along the Grand Union Canal in splendid scenery on one of the trip boats operating at Stoke Bruerne. For the more active, there are two canalside walks. The short route is tarmac and suitable for buggies and wheelchairs, or follow the towpath down the flight of seven locks. There are also 3 restaurants, a tea room and 2 pubs in the village. The village is a beautiful so sit and have a bite to eat and a pint or two while you take in your glorious surroundings.
