    Brickell

Giving this place a tentative 4 stars. It's not in the luxury category of Jade or Santa Maria but,…read moreoverall, a pretty good building with a few kinks. The good: great location; front desk staff, security, and management are excellent and helpful. Reasonably priced. On site maintenance will change your AC air filter and light bulbs for a small fee (not all buildings permit this). Quick approval process (renters). Fairly large and decent layouts with pretty good views from units facing Brickell Ave and the bay; Exit/entrance from, both, Brickell Ave and South Miami Avenue; good restaurant options attached to the building and nearby. The negatives: you can sometimes hear your neighbors walking above you (especially if they wear heels), I can hear the music / bass from my neighbor one floor below me and 1 unit over (though management usually responds to and handles noise complaints ); the shower water pressure can be low during busy/heavy use times; constant and annoying "ping" sounds coming through both bathroom ceiling vents; the sun is blocked mid afternoon for 1-2 hours at the pool area by the building (Bond) next door unless one moves to an extreme, very limited corner of the sun deck; television served only by DirecTV, no cable options--which means expect outages during rainstorms. Mixed age group with families, young professionals, and older people. I am renting now but might consider buying elsewhere depending upon unit and its condition.

I recently moved to this condominium and not only I love the loft, but the amenities are wonderful,…read moreas well as the location in the heart of Brickell and pretty friendly staff.

Surprisingly, Carillon Miami Beach 1bed/1bath condominiums have gone down in value from $650k in 2015 to $450k in 2021 with a monthly home owners association fee of $1660 while 2bed/2bath Condominiums have gone up from $775k in 2020 to $1.3million in 2021 with a monthly home owners association fee of $2660. Condominium owners have the option to rent out their unit except for 3 weeks a year and the unit paid for itself before the covid restrictions were imposed. Now that the building management has imposed covid restrictions, units cannot be rented out, costing condo owners considerable monthly expenditures as units remain vacant for close to 2 years now. The monthly home owner association fees have not been reduced while classes were cancelled and while classes remain at reduced capacity, many residents cannot attend the classes they want to. Carillon Miami Beach Wellness Resort's nightly rates range from $600 to $1200 per night, which can be pretty pricey but the amenities, views, classes, and spa is definitely top of the line! If you're looking for the best spa in Miami, definitely visit Carillon Miami Beach Wellness Resort!

My disadvantage in writing this review is that I have not stayed in other comparable hotels in this…read moresame area, so I can only comment on this one experience. I had researched multiple options before the trip and this place seemed to be one of the better options in terms of price, location, and space. None of the similar hotels in this area offered an included breakfast, and (I'm guessing) all of them probably only have valet parking. With that said, let's begin. The hotel is located in the North Beach section of Miami Beach. It is about 5 - 6 miles from South Beach. The drive in between can be bad depending on time of day, etc. There is some trolley system that you can ride for free to access other part of Miami Beach, but you may have to take 2 different ones to get where you want to go. My advice is to stay close to what you are mostly interested in. We ended up walking to dinner all 3 evenings we were here. There is a Starbuck's adjacent to the lobby, also. First the good points. - Beach access from the hotel is across the street, about 100 yards south and 100 yards east. The beach is open to the public, but most of the access is taken up by hotels and condos. Hence, you can only access the beach every block or 2. Here it was easy. It was great to take a walk on the beach around sunrise. We also had a (restricted) view of the beach from our east-facing room. The view was limited between 2 other high rise buildings but we were able to watch the sunrise in that gap. - General conditions: the hotel seems relatively new, clean, and well-maintained. The room was relatively spacious. The queen bed was a bit small. I wasn't a huge fan of the pillows, but they were serviceable. The room had a toaster oven, a microwave, a sink, a dishwasher, some cups / plates / silverware, and a dorm-type refrigerator. We were able to fix simple breakfasts for ourselves each day in lieu of some on-site buffet. It was a comfortable room, generally. Now the potential issues: - Traffic in this area in the evening is terrible. The street where the hotel is located is a 3-lane major road and is one-way. It is solid with cars (but moving) from after 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. It makes driving longer distances for dinner, etc. something you may want to avoid. In the morning, traffic wasn't bad. - Noise: there was a lot of street noise until around 8 p.m., after which it quieted down (mostly). The rooms were decent for noise, but we did end up hearing the adjoining room mostly through the door that was between the rooms (i.e., the walls were better soundproofed than that door). But this wasn't a big issue. There was construction going on (renovation) at some nearby high-rise buildings, and this tended to start by around 6:30 a.m. Given the constraints, this wasn't a big problem for us, but be aware. My assumption is that this area was likely quieter than South Beach, though. - Valet parking: I have nothing against the people who park cars, but on the whole I'd prefer to park it myself. Also, I don't think the hotel made it clear in advance that you had no choice in this, and it cost $40 per night. That said, given the cramped building sites, I understand why this is the case and I assume every hotel here has the same restrictions. I'd like to have been better informed about it up front, though. My only advice would be to ensure that (if you have a push-to-start vehicle) that you double-check on the key status before leaving the hotel. Do not assume it is in the cup holder. Enough said. I do not regret staying here. If I returned in a couple of months, I might explore other options just to have a point of comparison. This could be the best value in accommodations in the area, though. You could do a lot worse than this, certainly.

We were greeted by a really nice young lady at the front desk who helped us figure out where to eat…read moreand was very knowledgeable about what the hotel offered. Upon entry the room is inviting. Literally a breath of fresh air. Nice open area concept with a decent size bathroom. Everything looks extremely clean and I absolutely loved the balcony. For a little extra razzle dazzle they have music playing when you walk in. I love it The Good: Spacious room Microwave Fridge Dishwasher Toaster Oven Dishes FREE Laundry onsite 24/7 front desk responsiveness Starbucks on site...hotel guests get unlimited SB discount cards to use there. Walking distance from Publix Literally less than a block from a beautiful beach (walk/run/bike/skate) Free Beach towel access The Bad: There's this super wierd policy with towels and bedsheets ...if anything gets on them they charge you. I'm grateful that my situation was worked out (thanks again!) but I watched another young man not have the same luck over a dirty towel...and they showed him a picture of it which I saw. Eew...and how embarrassing to your guests! Wash it! People are coming back from the beach etc...what do you expect. That was the only tacky thing about this place. The policy doesn't match the hotel honestly. It's too nice of an establishment for that. The So-So: 1: Housekeeping is just ok, they didn't really clean up much once you checked in. They just changed towels. 2: You're in North Beach so if you're here to party...you're at least 20 mins out from the party scene with no traffic. (I like leaving the party scene so it was perfect for me)
