Sonogram is done before procedure to insure correct diagnosis of carpal tunnel, if present consent is signed after a through explanation and you hand is marked, When totally numb, Doctor the begins procedure with a tiny incision and the sonogram for guidance. A small instrument is used for freeing the nerve. Procedure itself took about 10 minutes per hand, small steri strip to close and occlusive dressing which is removed in 24 hrs. There is a text based service to sign into which gives you daily expectations, guidance and helpful tips. You can also contact office if you need more help. No follow up is needed. Day 2 and I have no swelling, minimal discomfort and can do mostly anything except lifting heavy objects . My complaint of numbness, tingling and shooting pain is gone almost entirely!
