They never made me feel embarrassed about how long it had been, which meant more than they probably realize. The office itself is beautiful and comfortable, which helped calm my nerves right away. Called with a broken tooth emergency. Was told I couldn't be seen until Friday, July 9. When I asked, stunned, if that was the case even for emergencies, the receptionist deadpanned, "Yes, even for emergencies. We have to leave availability open." Those availabilities are what I assumed were for emergencies like this. Now I'm beginning to understand why the website gives you a different number to call than the main line when it's a dental emergency. Perhaps I should have called that one but it's too late now. I had my first appointment here today after switching over from a previous dentist. Scheduling was simple and everyone I talked to prior to scheduling was very sweet and helpful. They send all forms electronically and they can be completed right on your phone - super convenient. Due to COVID, no one is allowed to wait in lobby, instead you call on arrival and they let you know when to come in. I had Dr. Smith and she was very thorough in explaining everything before she did it. If there is anything that won't be covered by your insurance, they let you know beforehand and give you a price upfront before proceeding. Highly reccomend this dentist for anyone in the NOLA area. I haven't gone to the same dentist twice until Dr. Tripp (been seeing him for years) and also I am a Leo. You may be wondering why being a Leo is important. Well, in true Leo fashion I am dramatic yet loyal. I kid you not guys...Dr. Tripp and my favorite dental assistant (Mrs. S) are so PATIENT because I am actually ridiculous. Blame my anxiety and irrational fear of the dentist. Their emotional consistency with me makes it difficult to tell if an appointment with me ruins their day or provides them with comedic content. I hope it's the latter. Nevertheless, I recommend everyone I know to Dr. Tripp because of the great experiences, knowledgeable team, supportive services, atmosphere, and quality dental care. This is my 2nd visit to Dr. Tripp and on both occasions I was uber impressed with the professionalism and proficient service. The dental office is really state of the art with their innovative technology from checking in via iPad to the cleaning products used. The visit: I never wait longer than 5-10 minutes to be seen! Whoop!! The receptionist always checks your insurance in advance so you are never surprised with a co pay. Dr. Tripp is very thorough with his cleanings and always has very relaxing music playing to create a warm ambiance. Services provided include general cleanings, X-ray exams, teeth whitening and Invisalign. The swag bag: goodies include eucalyptus spray sanitizer, chap stick, toothbrush and paste of course with floss! Point of Sale: Most insurance plans are taken including Assurant, MetLife and Medicaid. As a school nurse, this is my preferred dental provider for my students and I also referred my boyfriend. Let me start by complimenting the staff for being some of the sweetest and efficient folks in the dental business...they recieve five stars in my opinion. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for John C. Tripp III. After filling out paperwork about my medical history, I was promptly admitted to a patient room in the back. One of the assistants immediately did x-rays of my teeth and then began asking me the same medical questions from my paperwork. Again, I answered that I did have allergies and breathing problems including asthma; I had actually asked for the air freshener to be removed from the room I was in. Another assistant had come in to begin looking at my teeth. As she started, the other assistant came back into the room and said that the dentist wouldn't be able to see me that day because he was wearing cologne. He further told her that I needed to give at least twenty-four hours notice before coming there. I asked why that was. She replied that he would need to prepare for my visit. I asked to what extreme the man's cologne was; i.e. if it was just on his hands or on his clothes or what...I asked if he was able to just wash it off his hands; I wanted to work it out so that they got the business after having read all the good reviews online. The assistant left the room again quickly and stepped out into the hall. A few seconds later, I heard who I assume to be John C. Tripp III say loudly in an angry and beligerant voice, "No, I ain't washin' it off!" At that point, I'd heard enough and decided to leave. One of the assistants came back in the room and acted confused asking, "What's going on?" I stated that I was leaving as I took off the dental bib and laid it on the table. Both of the assistants seemed shaken by the dentist's outburst. As I stepped out into the hall and turned to go out, I noticed the man at the end of the hall begin to walk toward me in an aggressive manner. I entered the waiting room and asked if I could wait for my ride. The lady at the desk said that was fine. After leaving, I thought to call my insurance company to let them know what happened and to see if I could get the x-rays from Tripp's office. Within a week or so, an EOB came in the mail for my visit to Tripp's office. I was charged for the x-rays (which were done) and for a cleaning that I absolutely never recieved. As of today, I found out that United Health has paid for everything this man claimed he did. I have filed a fraud complaint with the State Board of Dentistry in Louisiana and with United Health. John C. Tripp III never even walked into my room. ***For people with breathing problems or any serious allergies: In addition to the dentist's usage of cologne, there are also time-release aerosol air fresheners in every room; that includes the operation rooms. My backpack and clothes were outgassing from the air freshners for the rest of the day. read more

I had been given a referral to 7 o'clock Dental from my military dentist. He was completely booked out due to COVID and I needed a cavity to be fixed pretty quick. The COVID protocols at 7 o'clock are very reasonable. You call when you've parked, they let you in and there are three socially-distant chairs in the waiting room. There was a pretty big hang-up with my insurance so I ended up waiting almost an hour to be seen. While I was there, every time I spoke to someone working there or I overheard them speaking to a different patient, their customer service was incredible. The greeting that they have to say EACH time they answer the phone is lengthy at best, but seriously every person in there was kind and upbeat. When I finally got to the exam room, multiple x-rays were taken by two different hygienists. Again, their customer service and "bedside" manner was amazing. Dr. Tripp came in to look at the x-rays and saw NO cavity. So after spending the better part of my morning there and thus finding out I needed no work, I left feeling dumbfounded at my original dentist but so happy to experience top-notch customer service with 7 o'clock Dental. read more

Dr. Tripp and his staff were courteous, punctual with very little wait time. They answered all my questions. And when I had a cavity, assistant was the best with the suction. Seriously, that's the worst thing about the dentist I've experienced in the past. But for the first time I wasn't choking on my own saliva. I just got a cleaning and a cavity filled but so far, I am happy with their work, the employees, the waiting area and the overall cleanliness of the facility. I was on my bachelorette trip in New Orleans and as the weekend started, my lumineer (veneer) on my top front tooth cracked in half. I was frantic and began looking up dentist offices that were open on a Friday at 3pm. Fortunately I came cross 7'oclock dental and made the call. The staff was courteous, kind and sympathetic. The made me feel as if my problem was theirs. They told me to come in as soon as I could and after an hour entering the dentist office I was on my way out with a smile on my face (a good looking smile!) and ready to start the festivities with my girlfriends. Dr. Tripp was excellent! I highly recommend him. I'm very nervous in the dentist chair and I felt very comfortable with Dr. Tripp and his staff!!! Called and explained the situation and was told to come in right away. The office was very 21st century and clean. The lady at the front desk was very sweet and welcoming. If you're looking for a dentist in NOLA, Dr. Tripp is your guy! My first visit to see Dr. Tripp was Tuesday. I enjoyed my experience so much that my boyfriend made an appointment today. Now, let me just say that this place is great! Dr. Tripp has a very modernized experience in store for his patients. You walk in and check-in on an IPad which takes about 10 seconds to do. I waited less than 5 minutes to be taken to the back to start my appointment. I was completely caught off guard when the chair started massaging my back as I was serviced...Yes, you read correctly...Dental care meets massage parlor! He also has digital TV in the treatment rooms to help you feel at home. From the check-in to check-out, I felt comfortable and welcome. The staff is genuine and all-around nice. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and smiling. They truly seem to enjoy what they do here and it shows. One of the most impressive perks about this place is the hours of business. It is very accommodating for the working folks that get off at 5pm; when most other dentists are closing, Dr. Tripp' office is open for business until 7pm, where it gets its name from. Dr. Tripp is very thorough and knowledgable. He explained everything in great detail and showed me pictures on an iPad that showed the procedures that I would possibly need in the future. I came today for a cleaning and new patient exam... His cleaning skills are on point! He even cleaned under the gum line, which some dentists neglect to do. Overall, I love this place. Dr. Tripp was excellent. He was gentle and professional throughout my exam. My complaint is with the cleaning. I have a permanent bottom retainer, and the dental hygienist was extremely rough with cleaning and removed the sealant around it. I had to go back and ask to have it fixed because the rough retainer was now exposed to my mouth, and I especially didn't want to lose the retainer all together. Dr. Tripp was kind and polished the area, but now I am worried that my retainer is no longer secure. Immediately after my appointment, my retainer did come loose, and I had to have an orthodontist in the area repair it. Again, Dr. Tripp was extremely professional and covered the cost of my ortho fees, but it was still less than ideal to have additional appointments added to my schedule when I originally only wanted a quick cleaning. read more

I had a terrible toothache that radiated the pain from my left temple to the left side of my neck (the tooth was on the left that was giving me pain). I scheduled an appointment, came in early at around 3:20pm & my appointment was for 4pm ('cause I knew I had to fill out papers) & there were 2 other people that were ahead of me & the wait time was NOT LONG at all! I was seen in I'd say 30 mins & Dr. Tripp was very thorough & everything he explained was clear. His staff is also amazing; every single one of them. They make you feel so comfortable. So anyways, Dr. Tripp made his diagnosis & I chose to get my tooth removed. At first I was really scared 'cause I was in A LOT of pain but he explained to me exactly what he was doing during the whole process & of course gave me anesthesia. I asked if I'd feel any pain & he said no but I'll feel pressure & that's exactly what I felt. No pain, just pressure. My tooth was extracted in what seemed like 10 minutes. I was so shook! It felt so brief & I was kind of sad 'cause I thought it would be a long process but I'm also glad it was short LOL! He is very professional, quick & precise. I recommend Dr. Tripp to EVERYONE! Once I was called to the back, I was thoroughly impressed with the care and attention that was given. I enjoyed the massage chairs and Netflix as they were both distractions while he was working. Unfortunately, I don't feel that I can trust Dr. Tripp. I came to 7 O'Clock Dental about two years ago as a new patient for a cleaning and checkup. I was told that I had multiple cavities that needed filling. I was thrown off because these were areas I'd been told for years by previous dentists were deep grooves/stains but not cavities. I was prepared for the fact that I might have a cavity since I hadn't seen a dentist in a little while, but multiple ones? I got an uneasy gut feeling from Dr. Tripp and wasn't sure I could trust his advice, so I did not get the fillings and ended up avoiding dentists altogether for two years. Not the smartest choice, I know. But I finally saw a new dentist a couple weeks ago and was told I had ONE small cavity. So what happened to the other ones? Surely they would have worsened in the last two years and been visible to my current dentist? I don't know if Dr. Tripp's advice was due to lack of knowledge or purposeful fraud, but either way I'm uncomfortable with the situation and would never return to 7 O'Clock Dental. read more
