Loved the presentation as well and my mom and aunt also loved it! Ambience: -really spacious and lovely. Has photos of Frida and also a spot that you can take photos so because it felt festive for us, we definitely did! Staff/service: -we got to meet Abigail who was friendly, prompt, and helpful as we navigated the menu and all. Overall: -love this spot!! 7 Moltin GOOD: Service was very friendly, refried beans were great, taco fillings were okay BAD: large charge for a customary table chips and salsa, tortillas tasted rubbery, not fresh, and the rice was undercooked - brittle I wanted to really like 7 Moltin. Reviews were beaming, but I was immediately disappointed that the usual complimentary chips and salsa for the table was over $7.00 - hard pass. The tacos looked great, they photo very well. The server was very nice and allowed me to do a la carte on the tacos and get 3 kinds. These fell flat as the tortillas were rubbery and didn't taste fresh. The meat flavor needed love. I really enjoyed the included refried beans side, but the rice wasn't tender soft, but brittle. If I returned, I'd probably try an enchilada to sample the sauces. Guys! The food tasted so authentic. This is a hidden gym! They also have a food truck that visits different sites throughout NOVA. I really liked their hibiscus margarita don't need to twist my arm. I had 3 tacos (Birria, chorizo, and beef). It comes with rice and refried beans. Need I say more?! I also tried the burrito and it is a big serving! You pick the sauce you want over it. We visited 7 Moltin for dinner recently as we saw that this place is new. I wasn't even aware what this restaurant serves until I saw the flag outside the restaurant. The place is spacious that it almost looks empty. However, the space is really clean. For food, we ordered Chips and Salsa for appetizer. For entrees, we had Fish Tacos and Fish Filet ala Veracruzana. Both dishes are delicious and the fish tasted fresh. For desserts, we had Churros and Tres Leches Cake. We really enjoyed the food and service was great. It feels like the menu wasn't anything new in the area and somehow needs to find its identity. I wouldn't mind returning again. read more

This location is attached to the Best Western Hotel. Did a to-go order here. Placed the order on Toast App so that was very easy and efficient. Staff member greeted me when I came in and was very friendly. I even asked her to include hot sauce for me, in which she did and had my order out within a few minutes. I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas, you get to choose three sauces to go on top of it. I got it with Poblana, Jarocha, and Suiza. All three of the sauces were good, however, nothing that stood out to me. The hot sauce helped kick it up a notch. Chicken was shredded and plain, with no seasoning so you definitely need to have it soaked in with the sauce for flavoring. Rice and Beans came with it, in which the rice was very fluffy and the beans was perfectly seasoned. Overall, I enjoyed it for a quick meal but was not overly impressed. read more

We had a wonderful experience on our first visit tonight! We had the enchiladas and got to try 3 different sauces for each. My husband got the burrito and two sauces on top. We also ordered the flan de olla. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. The owner also came out to ask how the food was, and we had an enjoyable conversation We will come back! Opened in January 2025, 7 Moltin is the rare kind of restaurant where everything, from the salsa and chips to the empanadas and enchiladas, tells you someone cares deeply about the food. Every bite was made from scratch and made with love. We started with housemade chips and salsa: warm, rich and layered with just the right balance of chilis. The guacamole was fresh and vibrant, with that perfect touch of white onion for brightness. Our drinks, the margarita and the "mezcalita", were both made with fresh juices (no mixes here!), served with joy and you could taste the difference. Standouts: the Camarones a la Diabla, where the shrimp were tender, marinated and kissed with just enough heat to keep you reaching for more. The empanadas were crisp and chicken savory, but the morita sauce/salsa stole the show - I even asked for extra to take home. Chef Fernando came out to greet us and talk through the menu. His passion for the food and the flavors he brings forward was obvious - and matched only by the care in every dish. After nearly 20 years of hunting for truly great Mexican food in the DC area, this is it. 7 Moltin is not just the best I've had in two decades - it's the one I'll be returning to again and again. I'm from Las Angeles born and raised. This is the first real Mexican food I have had in this area. The chips are fire the salsa is amazing too small of a portion though. The burrito and I asked for sauce on side is great. The enchiladas are great, but too small overall this place is really good. Portions are a little bit small but very tasty. read more

The tacos were perfectly flavorful and delicious. I had a 3-taco combo including fish, pork, and beef birria. I also had the hibiscus margarita which was equally delicious. They are on a break right now and I'm a bit crushed. I heard they were opening a restaurant so we are anxiously awaiting the news for that opening date! If you see this place, 100% stop and get the enchiladas. The person taking the order was extremely helpful with recommending what to order and what sauces to pair with the proteins. He was super patient and seemed to genuinely love the food himself. We went with orders of the chicken and birria and every sauce we had was fantastic. Fantastic, authentic. My husband says best fish taco since he worked on Kauai. Beware, if you are looking for tons of greasy chips you won't find them here. You will find reasonably priced drinks, and freshly made Mexican food. They do offer a wonderful cauliflower taco for vegetarians. read more
