This tidy little store is the only one of its kind in the area; a speciality Korean supermarket…read more Describing it as a supermarket might be a little generous - it's really tiny. Although it's small it's also really neat and clean, and obviously since they specialise in Korean groceries they have a pretty decent range of Korean items. A lot of it seemed to be refrigerated stuff, with one whole wall taken up by a fridge housing a heap of drinks and other goodies. There was only one shelf in the middle of the store with long life items, so you certainly won't need hours to explore it, but if you're after some special bits to cook up a Korean storm this should be your go to.

There is a coffee cart near the entrance as well as fresh plants and flowers available to purchase. The fruit and vegetable selection is massive and I love the freshly made and packaged sandwiches, salads and wraps. There is a clothing section and a lot of registers (including self serve) available so I haven't had to wait in line yet. The staff are very friendly and there is competitive pricing with a Woolworths supermarket at the opposite end of the Town Centre.

They have regular sales, and you can pickup non grocery items for good prices. This Aldi is quite, particularly in the afternoon- if you're going take a Green Bag and if you're shopping big then be sure to have the trolley when you get to checkout. It'd be great if they had self checkout.

Formally known as the scary sounding "Flaschengeist",…read more Liqurious has transformed itself into a great speciality gift store. Known for it's intriguing combinations, This store offers amazing Liqueurs, spirits, fortified wines, oils and vinegars for you to fill up and take home in whatever size bottle you need. I remember being stumped for good gift idea's for my manly man friend, but after talking to the friendly sales staff I got to take home white port in a bottle that had a GLASS SHIP IN IT. (Needless to say it's so boss it still resides on the kitchen counter.) With liqueurs ranging from mango melon, pineapple, rose, limoncello, cognac and walnut, AND melon (as well as a yummy chocolate vodka.) This place definitely has you spoiled for choice. Now is the season for yuletide giving and If you're stumped for a unique gift idea this place is great alternative to that giftcard you were guiltily thinking of buying.

And oh, what a place full of delightful, alcoholic things! But first there's the amazing oils (I don't cook, but even I was impressed). I totes wanted the Mandarin Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil to dress some of my Christmas Day salads with. Or perhaps even the Raspberry Caramelised Balsamic Vinegar to dip breads in? Then I realised that I was loitering right beside a huge bottle of chocolate Port. Yes, you read that right. It's Port and it's chocolate flavoured. You can even soak strawbs in it. Then there were the other amazing liquers, just ripe for adding into cocktails: watermelon, rose, mango, macadamia nut). I underestimated you, Liqurious. Respect.

Milton Fruit Bowl is the best place to buy fruit on the west side in my opinion. Although my…read morefavourite Brisbane fruit and veg shop is All About Fruit at New Farm, Milton Fruit Bowl is a very close second and if I'm over this side of town it does just nicely. I find that their selection and quality of tomatoes exceeds everywhere else including All About Fruit. Their prices are more than you would pay for fruit and veg in a supermarket, but the freshness, quality, and variety is far, far better. Their fruit is actually ripe and tasty, unlike a lot of the tasteless, hard-as-rocks fruit you find elsewhere. As well as fruit and veg, Milton Fruit Bowl sells lots of nibbles like dried fruit, nuts, lentils, and confectionery and they often have some really lovely looking flowers at bargain prices. It's very handy having the Milton Fruit Bowl in this shopping strip because right next door is a deli and a butcher and there's also an IGA so if you need ingredients for a dinner party or something, you have everything you need in one centre. Milton Fruit Bowl has been around since the late 80s and even now is something of an undiscovered gem. You never see it packed full of people the way you do at Rock'n'Roll on the south side or James Street Markets, yet the quality is better and the prices similar or even lower. Make sure you get a piece of the wonderful fresh produce in this Fruit Bowl.

It's like they tag team eachother, and add in the butcher and Tognini's deli goods, and you're set. You need not go anywhere else for your fresh produce. There's a level of #smugtrolley that comes from shopping at a spot like Milton Fruit Bowl but from that level of virtuosity comes the knowledge you're supporting a family-operated local business and that, in my experience, the quality of produce was always at the highest. Yes, I probably paid for it but they always, for example, came through on more specialty items that may not be as easily able to purchase from the supermarkets. A great local spot to keep up your sleeve! Pro Tip: Often you can purchase olive trees, fruit plants and herbs from the front of the store.

I guess that's why it's a superstore. The prices are by far cheaper than the other BWS' around the corner and your other local booze shops, and they are open a little later than most as well. I go here when i need a special bottle of wine as a gift or beer for my husband. They have quite a big selection here, and you can pretty find any brand of wine you are looking for. They have a chiller for wine's in the front past the checkouts as well. They are enviromental friendly, don't give you plastic bags, but have old boxes you can carry your guilty pleasure out in, i'm a big fan of this. They aren't big on service because the store is huge and there aren't that many staff around... but they are where you should go to get your liquor.
