Fair gas prices compared to the area, but always thought it was funny they built two 7-11's so close.

I absolutely love Chapter 2 Coffee, and honestly, I'm surprised I haven't left a review until now!…read moreIt probably just escaped me because I finish my coffee or matcha in seconds every time I visit. The space itself is so warm, clean, and welcoming. There are a couple of tables up front near some fun merch and stickers, but if you want to sit down and work for a bit, they have a ton of space in the back with comfy couches and tables. Their menu is to die for! My absolute favorite is the Mango Matcha, it is creamy, refreshing, and has the perfect amount of sweetness. I also love trying their seasonal drinks; lately, I've been obsessed with their Coconut Ube Matcha and honestly wish I could drink it all year round. If you're a coffee lover, I highly recommend the Banana Brûlée Latte, which features a perfect roasted caramel flavor profile with a hint of banana without being overly sweet. They also carry a great selection of pastries and small bites, like sandwiches and toasts. The staff is always incredibly kind and friendly, and I love that they host community events, it's the perfect place to break out of your daily routine.

Then, they were kind enough to let me try the new Cookies N Cream Latte! Not overwhelming sweet but still very rich with cookie crumbles on top. I'll have to come back and try the Tiramisu plus food items!

The staff member / barista seemed as if they hated their job. It was around 10am on a Sunday and understandably there were a few people already in the shop, but the staff member felt a bit cold and overall, quite miserable. The coffee was pretty gross as well, which could be a byproduct of the barista hating that they were working that day. I am a sucker for a fun drink and wanted to try the cookie and cream latte, not knowing it was just a cup of milk with the smallest splash of coffee and mixed with crushed up cookies. I felt as if I was drinking a child's recipe, with each attempted sip clogging my straw due to the cookie pieces. If you don't like coffee this is great, because it tasted exactly like what was advertised - milk and cookies. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but my partner ordered something completely different and it didn't taste great either. The taste of burnt coffee was prominent, making it hard to consume as well. The one positive is the environment seems like a great place to work remotely / study, as that is what many patrons were doing. The open-ness and bright atmosphere is great, but the beverages and customer service not so much.

The don't accept reservations, but you can put your name on the waitlist queue and they will text you a few minutes before to let you know that their table is available. I'd avoid going here on Valentine's Day as it was impossible to get off that waitlist! I've gone in the evening but their brunch menu is definitely better. Service is great and you can scan the QR code for their menu. For brunch, they have a lot of options from crêpes to omelettes. This place is not a BYOB but they have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails on the menu. Decor is modern, airy, and of course - pink! They also have a separate café and pastry counter if you're just stopping in and want something quicker instead of sitting down. On our most recent visit, I had the Dubai chocolate pistachio crêpe, and it was really delicious, not too sweet or too rich. And I also had the strawberry Matcha, which I enjoyed. I think this is a great spot for a weekend date, girls brunch, or just an every day indulgence. Looking forward to my next visit.

I've heard many good things about this place, so I finally stopped in!…read more I ordered the pink matcha, which is their strawberry matcha. It was over $10 which is pretty steep for a strawberry matcha. I also didn't love that they left the muddled strawberries in the drink because it kept clogging up the straw and made it hard to drink. Not a bad taste, but the matcha was overpowered by the strawberry. Staff was very friendly though and the interior is super cute. I'll be back to try the pistachio latte!

On our way to the café, we were pleasantly surprised by a tour of Rutgers. The staff at Hidden Grounds are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They're particularly known for their chai, so my friend ordered a Rose Chai over ice, while I opted for a Hot Dirty Chai. Another friend chose the Honey Bee Latte, also over ice. The chai is amazing--it's aromatic and captures the essence of a proper chai. The Rose Chai was very good too, perfectly balanced! Overall, it's a great coffee shop with a lovely space for everyone to sit and enjoy their drinks.

What caught my eye was the New Orleans brew. The barista was helpful in explaining what it was and if anyone has ever had coffee from New Orleans you would know the chicory flavor is a game changer. I had their version of the New Orleans brew iced without the simple syrup and I was impressed. The coffee needed no sugar. It was a bold and smooth taste that blended well with the almond milk. So glad I tried it.. it will be my go to moving forward. Now they had some amazing looking cookies in there that were huge that I will be back soon for. The place is small but a decent spot for getting some work on the computer done.
