Once at the Boost machine, the owner started yelling, "MAH! MAH! HEY! MAH!" across the crowded store at my mother. When my mom asked, "What?" the female owner started yelling, "You gave me a nickel instead of a quarter! You bring me more money! Now!" My mom had accidentally pulled out the wrong coin. She went out to her car, brought in the remaining $0.20 and left feeling super embarrassed. Today, my mom went back to Krauser's, which was empty, and got her Boost. She said to the owner, who was there again, "I really don't appreciate the way you talked to me yesterday - you embarrassed me in front of the entire store." The owner then started SCREAMING at my mom that she "knows" she was trying to leave the store with the Boost without paying and that she can "Go to Hell"!!! My mom kept trying to tell her, "I wasn't trying to steal from you - I just grabbed the wrong coin out of my change purse," but the owner just kept screaming over top of her. Who acts that way to a loyal customer?!? We will NEVER be shopping here again. Absolutely ridiculous.

I loved the inside seating area and the outside seating will be nice on warmer days. There is a walking bath along the Delaware that you can visit too! I hung out inside for about 2 hours while I enjoyed coffee and an amazing grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. It was soooo good. I wish they were open a little later since they do have food items, I feel like they would still do well. And maybe live music on certain nights to make staying open worth while? I adored their original location, as it was super quaint, quirky and cozy. When they first moved to this new spot, it felt a bit more clinical and commercial but they've done a great job of personalizing it, and I'm happy they kept a lot of the original furniture. My favorite item on their menu is the Whitefish Toast -- it comes on a fresh, thick, hearty piece of seeded toast, and the whitefish salad is dressed with pickled carrots and micro greens. It's a pretty generous portion at a reasonable price. I also love their seasonal Campfire latte, which is a rich, creamy delight with a touch of sweetness. On this visit, they had run out of the marshmallow topping but they kindly offered a partial refund to make up for it. The only downside is that this place gets packed early; by 8:45am, the only seat available was in the window. People seem to post up for the day with their laptops, and while everyone loves a good coffee shop work sesh, it seems ownership may need to institute a time limit so others can enjoy the atmosphere as well. If you're dreaming of stellar coffee, tasty locally-sourced food, and nearby access to the river, this place answers all your prayers.
