I am a daily customer at krausers as it is a block from my home. I have had numerous VERY bad experiences here with a couple pleasant ones sprinkled in between. I will begin with the quality of service from each of the three main employees. And then prices and quality of the product. First off we have the owner P. P is a nice lady Most the time, but if she feels she can, she will call you every name in the book, even in front of customers. BUT I do get the impression she is just trying to fit in to this "jersey" town with that behavior. Doesn't bother me much, but I have seen it affect her not so frequent customers, it can make them feel Very uncomfortable. Now we move on to S. S is a Great employee, always kind and always on top of his customer service. If not for him I would have left this place in the dust years ago. The only knock on him is, I once accidentally dropped my iced tea in a glass bottle, and it broke. He made me pay for the drink that broke and my replacement drink. Never heard of that kind of a low level customer service before in my life. Yet I do not blame this on S, I blame this on the whole "customer is the problem" attitude that comes from the owner and other employee. Lastly I must mention V. He is literally a lunatic who has escaped from the asylum. Any given day you walk in there, you can find him yelling at customers, cursing at children, singing vulgar songs, or just insulting various people he thinks its ok to do to. I have walked in on many mornings, when almost every customer is in a rush to get to work, and have witnessed V filling boost machines or messing with coffee machines all while a long line forms. He does not care if you have come to a convenience looking for the experience to be convenient. I have decided to write this as now every time I go in and have to deal with V, he chooses to approach me and tell me that he does not like me and that nobody likes me. I have been nothing but kind to him and the rest of the employees yet I still receive harassment like this. I often think this place could market themselves as a dicks last resort type store where they are intentionally rude, but that is obviously NOT the case with them. They truly believe they are doing things the "right" way. And i guess it is if you have no idea what customer service is, let alone Good customer service. Moving on we have to address the prices and quality of the products sold here. The products are your everyday convenience store fare, yet EVERYTHING is overpriced. A 50 or 75 cent can of soda, 1 dollar here. A 30 cent can of cat food, 1 dollar here. A gallon of tea, 6 dollars here. Muscle milk 20 oz bottle, 5 dollars here. The only thing not priced outrageously is the tobacco products, and I believe that is only because that is regulated to an extent by vendors and local competition. Most of what I have purchased here food wise has been good, I mean not rotten or damaged. Although i have on at least a couple occasions almost purchased expired products still on their shelves. All in all, for the location this weird F You customers approach seems to work for them. Just does not for me. So if you ever walk in and somebody is freaking out, I promise you it is not that customer that is the problem, he is being insulted or given sub-standard customer service. More than once I have seen people "destroy" the front counter out of aggravation with them. I guess I yearn for the day there are new owners of that place. Also I have taken a risk on posting this, as I am 110% sure there will be retaliation against me for posting my honest review of the place, as my picture is tied to my account here on yelp. And they KNOW my face. I am a lover not a fighter, I have told each one of them that I love them as my brothers and sisters in humanity, and they have continued to insult me and be rude, as 1 person I can only take so much from people I have been so nice to. And for anybody asking, the other stores in the local area are just as bad in their own ways, no franchise 7 eleven or wawa close enough to walk to, cause if there was I would abandon this place in a heartbeat, which they may force me to after they read this post. So much for my 1st amendment rights! :P read more
