Route 66 Garage Review: A Mixed Bag of Experiences
I recently had the opportunity to visit Route 66 Garage on two occasions, and my experiences were quite the rollercoaster, to say the least.
First Visit: A Smooth Ride
During my initial visit, I had a fantastic experience. I called in and spoke with Chad, who was friendly and accommodating. I needed lowering springs installed on my Challenger, and he scheduled me for the very next day without hesitation. Although he didn't quote me an exact price, he estimated it would be a few hundred dollars. When I returned to pick up my car the following day, the work was completed quickly, and I ended up paying $300. The efficient service left me satisfied and upbeat, promising to return for my camber arms installation in the near future.
Second Visit: A Bumpy Road
Unfortunately, my second experience was not as smooth. Upon returning with my front and rear camber arms, I hoped to deal directly with Chad again, but instead, I was assisted by a woman at the shop who had a bit of a cough, which made communication a little challenging. Despite this, she was understanding and assured me that they would try to squeeze my car in, given how great my first experience was. I dropped off my car, confident that they would handle it well.
However, the next day, I received a call from the same lady who informed me that she didn't fully grasp the job requirements. She quoted me $500 for the installation, but later, I was contacted by Chad, who informed me that the actual cost would be around $900 due to unforeseen labor hours. He kindly offered to reduce it to $700 because of the mix-up, but at this point, I felt quite frustrated by the miscommunication and lack of clarity.
Final Verdict
While my first visit to Route 66 Garage left a positive impression, my follow-up experience was dampened by a significant misquote and the complications stemming from unclear communication. Due to the issues I encountered, particularly with the staff who seemed to misunderstand the needs of the job, I am hesitant to return. It's a shame since Chad clearly knows what he's doing, but the inconsistency in service makes me cautious about my next steps. read more
