They took me off my heart medications for several days, had me start antibiotics for a procedure, and at 530pm the night before the surgery I received a text that my procedure was "unfortunately" canceled; that I should call them to reschedule. Nothing else was mentioned-no guidance about the heart medication, or the other meds prescribed. It's just a business to them. When I did not reschedule I got a call from a front office scheduler, shared my displeasure, asking her to pass this along and up. I never heard anything back. I frankly doubt it was ever transmitted, or if it was, it was ignored. Hope this helps someone out there.

Dr. Nelson explained the entire procedure to me, and told me it would be a difficult extraction. During the surgery, he explained exactly what he was doing, he was very gentle and took his time. My appointment was originally scheduled for early April and rescheduled for May 19th at 2:30 due to the COVID19 pandemic. First impression was positive, the receptionist was somewhat friendly and the waiting area was clean albeit small. As far as I could see, the COVID19 practices were being observed. I waited about 30 minutes before I was greeted by a lovely staff member who indicated that she would return to escort me to another area for my X-rays. She was pleasantly engaging as was another staff member. As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing better than a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in a dental office. The technology is state of the art as are the patient areas. Dr. Noori arrived shortly after I was seated in an examination room. He spent at least 20 minutes reviewing my X-rays, examining my prosthesis, explaining what he recommends and referring me to a specialist. All in all, I was very pleased with the experience!!

This has happened multiple times and it honestly feels like they are just trying to keep my money. I have had to advocate for myself throughout this entire billing process. They attempted to charge me hidden fees that I later found out I did not even owe. They also refused to submit my bill to my health insurance, even after I explained that a portion of the cost could likely be covered under a specific code. Instead, I was left with a $500 out of pocket bill that could have potentially been reduced to around $50 if properly submitted. When I checked in, they collected both my dental and health insurance information but never actually billed my health insurance like they said they would. I was later told this is something they tell customers but do not follow through on. On top of that, they failed to charge me correctly upfront and then asked my significant other to pay a large portion of the bill while I was under anesthesia, which was completely inappropriate and due to their own mistake. There was also a lack of transparency from the beginning. I had to question a $400 charge just to understand what I was being asked to pay, while others were apparently informed right away, according to my significant other who was in the lobby. Communication has been extremely poor. I have been trying to get in touch with them since February with no success. No matter the day or time I call, no one is available to help, which is especially frustrating while working full time during their business hours. They recently told me they would follow up with me regarding the issue, and it has now been over a week with no response. Overall, the billing practices are unprofessional, disorganized, and not transparent. I would not recommend this place. I didn't get to do that with Dr. Liddell, but I couldn't possibly have had a better outcome. Living in San Antonio, I opted to use the dental school to take care of my jaw surgery. Dr. Liddell, who was chief resident at the time, was assigned to my case... and what a cool, mellow guy. He explained the procedure in detail, told me what to expect, what risks were involved, and answered all of my questions. He was very accommodating and treated me like I was the only patient he was going to see that day. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and above all, reassuring. He really took the time to build up a mutual trust. This was a far cry from the doctors who talk quick, get right to the point, and have you facing the exit sign before you've even got a word in... and I've seen my fair share of those. I recovered from my surgery well and relatively fast. I saw Dr. Liddell a few times after for my follow-up appointments which were pretty breezy. He made sure I was following a good home-care regimen, eating what I was supposed to, etc. Overall, he was incredibly thorough and very caring. As an aside, he has a very entertaining sense of humor. tl;dr I got my jaws sliced and diced, I'm still alive, and Dr. Liddell is fantastic. Tannyhill OMS is very lucky to have him!
