We came in on the Disney Wonder. Booking was a breeze. They arranged for a taxi to meet us when we got off the ship and drove us to the boat. Nick and his dad run this labor of love and was happy to answer all of our questions and tell us his story. What a good dude. For a few hours I felt like a local. The boat is clean and beautiful and my 7 and 8 year old had a blast. Don't book through the cruise ships. Book straight through this company. They are an Alaskan gem. You won't regret it.

These folks appear to be general outfitters for outdoor activities in the area. Their office had a…read morelot of fly-fishing gear, for example. But we were here to see bears. We booked them through the cruise line to take us to see bears in the wild. First, the positives. The people were nice. It was a small outfit, but they had a mini-bus to get us at the dock and then had the plane waiting behind their office. Now the negatives. On the island (Chichagof Island) they were less organized. The van wasn't waiting for us, and when it did come they had to drop other folks off at a dock before our tour began. The people were still nice, but there seemed to be confusion about what time they were supposed to have met us. And while I understand that they can't guarantee bears, they should wait until bears are active. The guides told us that the salmon weren't running yet so the bears were more elusive. (So what were we doing out there?!) The salmon (and bears) become plentiful in late June, and into July. This had the potential to be totally awesome, but they were so eager to fill seats on their tour that they didn't consider that the bears weren't really out in force yet. If this had been in the middle of salmon season I could excuse the lack of bears since it's not really fair to hold them responsible for what nature does or doesn't do. But when they KNOW we're early, they shouldn't even offer the trip. It was really disappointing. I can't comment on their other outfitting activities. They may be outstanding. I think it's up to the buyer to verify if their activity of choice is really in-season or not. Don't assume they'll tell you before you sign-up. (Though, to be fair, since I signed up through the cruise line I have to put some of the blame on them for offering an excursion "out of season", so to speak.) If you are "in-season" with your activity, these folks did seem to be very nice and had a reasonable amount of equipment for fly fishing and cold weather in their office.

We saw orcas playing in the bay while we fished. The fly fishing was just part of the package. The float plane ride was great. We flew over forests, a silver mining operation and we saw whales from above. We will do this again and may book a trip just to Juneau for this. Apple was our bus driver to ant from the port. She gave us the tour along the way and we saw bald eagles all over the place. For us this adventure is a must do. This was one of the greatest outdoor adventures I have had.

We had such an incredible time on our 6 hour halibut fishing charter in Juneau, Alaska with…read moreCaptains Dave & Jojo! We caught our limit of halibut and even reeled in a beautiful yelloweye rockfish. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to make the trip special. When we arrived, they greeted us with warm scones and a locally made jam and after fishing, they treated us to the most delicious, smoked salmon salad.. such a thoughtful touch. They were fantastic with our three kids, making the whole afternoon fun and relaxed. The highlight for the kids (besides the fish!) was meeting Jojo's bunny, Mr. B, who lives aboard the boat. This was easily one of the best charter boat experiences we've had in our 5+ trips to Southeast Alaska. Dave & Jojo even helped process our catch when all the regular fish processors were booked during the salmon derby, this was a lifesaver since we wanted to fly our fish back home to Seattle. I can't imagine all of the other operators were breaking the rules. Even with 25× zoom on my phone, I couldn't get clear photos, and binoculars were almost required. Whales are plentiful in Alaska, so finding them isn't the issue--the viewing distance is. Staying so far away made this much less exciting than other whale watching tours I've been on. I would choose a different operator next time - sadly we don't know when will we be back to Alaska.

We had a very lucky experience when it comes to wildlife seeing eagles, sea lions, and a whale up close and personal. The whale name Kelp came within just a few feet of our vessel when it took its dives. Our captain knew just where to position us for the best views. Our guides were really knowledgeable and gave us tons of information. An added bonus was getting snacks, water and hot chocolate on board. Would definitely recommend this company!

We booked the Mendenhall Glacier and Whale Watching Tour We took a bus to…read morethe whale watching dock and to the glacier area with a bus driver named Rita who was kind and funny. She shared some interesting facts about Juneau on our way there, including how the city came to be named. The whale watching tour was spectacular. Many of these tours guarantee whale sightings and we sure saw some whales - probably at least 3-5, with one coming within a hundred feet of the boat! We also got lucky and saw a pod of orcas. They provide you free snacks on the boat too. Thanks to Jay and Jade for making it such a fantastic ride! Then we went to see the glacier. This part is self-guided and you have ~1 hour to explore. They drop you off next to the Visitor Center and then you can hike some trails if you'd like. Heads up - to hike any of the trails, you have to pay $5 per person, which I don't think is included in this ticket price. We unfortunately didn't have time to do the hike to Nugget Falls, and it also was rainy/foggy, so we couldn't really see the glacier either a little disappointing, but still beautiful. Nothing short of magical, and worth the $!

There were several options available when we got off the ship, and luckily, we chose the right one! The bus was nice, and the whale-watching boat was great. It was clean, had plenty of seating, and the staff was incredibly friendly. They made the experience fun and interesting, and we were lucky enough to see whales! Our bus driver was also fantastic. He was very friendly, shared lots of history about the area, and pointed out bald eagles along the way. The captain of the boat was also super friendly, and they even provided snacks during the tour. The tour also took us to see the glacier. They dropped us off and gave us a specific time to meet back up, then picked us up and brought us back to the ship. We made it back to the ship on time, which was important since we were on a cruise. If I ever come back to Juneau, I will definitely use this company again. Next time, I'll know exactly who to book with in advance! Five stars all around! Ps. I also took pictures of whales that we've seen. We were able to see six, but I took the pictures with my other phone.

From the very first moment, Steve was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and hospitable. He started off the tour talking about Juneau's history and giving us an origin story of the Alaskan Native Indian population known as the Tlingit. Once we got to the docks, the true wonderment began. On our way out to the heart of Auke Bay, Steve continued with information about the local wildlife population, sharing fun facts about humpback whales, harbor seals, bald eagles, and more. The highlight of the trip had to be the humpback whale breaches. We got very lucky - there must have been 10-15 separate full-body jumps out of the water! Our presence was graced with several playful whale calves, many of them performing chin straps (a term I had never heard before ) and several full-body breaches. Thanks again Steve for helping make our trip to Alaska so special. I would strongly recommend his tours to anyone looking for something special to do in Juneau!

We saw so many humpbacks and orcas and learned a lot about them. We saw several starfish when boarding the boat, and many Stellar Sea Lions. This was a small boat with a total of 6 on the excursion. So much better than large excursions. Captain Steve also stopped by Mendenhall Glacier for a few minutes before heading back to our ship. He told us a lot about the area and the natives of the area. I thoroughly enjoyed our day!

Our boat had a total of 6 people and there was plenty of room on the back of the boat for us all to fish. The captain and his mate (a golden retriever named Cyrus) were great. The captain in conjunction with their two other boats in the area did a great job keeping us on the fish. We had a blast and caught 15 halibut between the 3 of us and 31 total on the boat, the biggest being a 32" 15-16lb halibut that we sent home for a few nice dinners. The trip was great and would highly recommend these guys if you are in the area. Just be aware, the fish shipping company (an outside company) is quite expensive to ship fish back home, but they were extremely convenient to use and did provide great customer service.
