I truly can't say enough about Dr. Becker and everyone at Tippecanoe Animal Hospital. My guinea pig…read moreSmoochie has been under their care since March, and throughout everything, they have been incredible. Earlier this year, I had to rush Smoochie to an emergency vet after hours because she was peeing blood. That clinic told me all her blood tests were bad and that she had kidney stones(they were able to remove). When Dr. Becker reviewed the records, she immediately noticed they had entered her as a dog instead of a guinea pig. She took the time to explain everything clearly and reassured me when I was overwhelmed with worry. Smoochie kept peeing blood whenever she wasn't on antibiotics and pain medication, so we decided together that the most compassionate option was to spay her. I knew Smoochie was in the very best hands, and Dr. Becker's kindness and skill made such a difference during that stressful time. Even after surgery, Smoochie continued having issues, and Dr. Becker came in on her day off to help with her care. That alone speaks volumes about her dedication. She walked me through every option with so much patience and never made me feel rushed or judged. Ultimately, we decided to focus on keeping Smoochie comfortable and managing her pain until her body is ready to let go, and Dr. Becker has continued to support me with compassion and honesty every step of the way. She came in on her off day once for an emergency and She has personally called me to talk through Smoochie's care plans, and that level of follow-up and empathy is something you don't find everywhere. I also want to mention the wonderful girl at the front I believe her name is Gabby, who has always been so kind and welcoming. She is the only person who has consistently called me back, helped me get squeezed in for urgent appointments, and made sure we were taken care of. They have made some of the hardest times as a pet parent feel easier and less lonely. I trust Dr. Becker completely and am so grateful for the care and compassion they have shown to both my guinea pigs.

The care our pets have received here for years is outstanding and at a reasonable price. A vet visit isn't always fun: new puppies and kittens, baby guinea pigs and ferrets' checkups, sure. But sometimes you're there with a very sick animal or an end of life visit, and this is where the caring and compassion means so much. Highly recommend.

I was told they could not get the cat in for four days. They did not offer any form of drop off/hospital admission for a situation like this that demands immediate attention. A friend who does my hair recommended Dr. Baker to me. And they have exceeded my expectations. Dr. Baker, Dr. Dave, and their staff really care for their patients. My old girl, Layla, had lost a lot of weight and was having trouble getting around. We did a quality of life evaluation with Dr. Baker, and although Layla was getting close, she hadn't given up. Dr. Baker noticed that, and said "You're her human." A month later, I was going to have my knees replaced and asked Dr. Baker if she could recommend someplace that could board Layla in her declining condition for a few days until I got home. Without hesitation, Dr. Baker said she would have her staff do it. After my surgery, I was able to spend a few days with Layla. They also operate a walk-in wellness center on Sagamore Parkway and Greenbush that is open on Wednesday - Friday afternoons and Saturday until 1 pm. Their prices are reasonable and the care is fantastic. Layla, Hurley, and now puppy Sage get to enjoy their care.

Whether it's a routine check-up or a more complex health issue, she approaches every situation with both expertise and compassion. Dr. Clayton also excels at explaining care options, clearly outlining the benefits and limitations of each approach, and being transparent about costs as a factor. We have a medically complex cat who began experiencing serious health problems four years ago, and Dr. Clayton's commitment to staying current on the latest cat health research has been so helpful. Biscuit has remained happy and healthy thanks to her cutting-edge knowledge and care. Beyond Dr. Clayton, the entire staff is phenomenal. They are efficient and professional while also being so personable. It's evident that everyone who works at the Cat Hospital genuinely loves cats! When it was time to euthanize our 17-year-old cat last year, I couldn't have asked for better support. Dr. Clayton was kind, empathetic, and deeply supportive. She took the time to have difficult conversations and was truly invested in making it a peaceful experience for everyone. It felt as though she and the staff were grieving along with us. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Clayton and her team, although I definitely try whenever someone brings up cats or vets!

My Mother has a 9 year old DLH cat that needed grooming, so was tasked with getting this done. I called around Lafayette and spoke with several facilities (I wrote a harsh review on one of these due to the nasty things the "certified professional groomer" said about other local facilities) regarding setting up an appointment for Spider. The CS at Pittsburgh was helpful, but you do need to begin this process by pulling up their website and filling out their new client form. I booked an appointment a week out. The timing was good for the area. Like most good groomers, they are booked out. On the appointed day, we met with Chloe, our groomer, who was very kind and attentive to my ramblings about an old, "not so friendly cat" and this being Spider's first grooming appointment. Even with an appointment, drop off times are "open", meaning "any time between 7-11a" so I assume pick ups are varied too. We dropped off at 8a and were told she would be done by noon. I needed to get out of town by noon so I called at 11a to see how it was going and was told Spider was ready to go home. Done early. Sweet! We picked her up shortly there after. We again got to meet with our groomer, Chloe, which was a nice "follow up" service. Grooming was reasonably priced at $68 for a bath, brush out, knots cut out and nails trimmed. Spider looked amazing! Please remember to tip your groomer. I am sure Chloe was not paid enough for wrestling with this old obnoxious cat that my Mother so dearly loves.

Upon walking dog and his brother dog inside (a rescue with separation anxiety who always comes along so as not to wake my neighbors), there was an aggressive acting pit bull in the car next to us. The owner stepped out, leaving her dog in the car to check in, apologizing about him. I said it was ok. I check my dog in and sit in the dog area with adaptil diffuser, our custom. Then I overheard the pit owner say upon check-in that she wished to keep her dog separate from others, as he was still in the car (weather was fine for this). I immediately breathed a sigh of relief. A staff member then takes us to our waiting room. The vet tech enters the room and closes the door. She asks if we got a weight on my dog at check-in and I said no but that I did NOT want my dog to come into contact with the pit. VT opened the door to said animal entering to check out my dog, owner at the other end of his leash. I then said please shut the door. I don't want this. VT continues to ignore my wishes and refuses to simply shut the door (pit restrained and shutting door would be easy). I then more insistently said I don't want this PLEASE shut the door. VT still refused, though I was clearly distressed. She even pushed to facilitate a meet-n-greet, though neither I nor the pit mama wanted this. FINALLY, the door is shut and in an effort to explain--yes after all of that I tried to explain MY actions, my experience in Indy with actual killer pit bulls--VT inexplicably turned to me and says that I need to take a deep breath and calm down. I said what I NEED is to leave. She said, ok! And that was the FIRST time she respected ANY of my wishes or boundaries to ensure physical and emotional safety for myself and my furkids There is absolutely no way I am letting her take my animal into a back room where I cannot watch her. If she has zero compassion, empathy, or respect for a paying, clearly speaking, human client, then how is she going to care for a nervous animal in distress. I am extremely disappointed that VCA, that Dr. Chad Colborn, would on his staff have someone with such blatant disregard--even contempt--for the clients and wonderful animals who keep the lights on. BE VERY CAREFUL HERE.
