Fireside yin with Shelley is a special treat. If you are looking to have an authentic yoga and…read morespiritual experience, this is the studio and class for you. The energy is so warm and welcoming at The Pines House. I found it particularly interesting that the gathering space is on the other side of the classroom from the entrance, increasing the degree of connection with classmates and the space itself. The wood oven and candles brought a very pleasant degree of natural light into the room for a calming practice. As a yin teacher myself, I am slightly picky about the classes I choose to attend. I am careful to select teachers who respect the authenticity of the practice of yoga, in a culture that is very guilty of its appropriation. In my opinion, Shelley did an excellent job at honouring yoga as a sacred practice. She has also recently released a collection of healing mists which were used in the class and were very pleasant. Overall, I am very happy with this studio and will certainly be back during my time in Comox.

(RMT) It took me stumbling through a few places in town before finding another excellent massage therapist. I am so grateful to have come into Hannah Beard's clinic at Satori Health Integrated. She is a top notch RMT in releasing muscle pain and tightness. I have a rough and tumble job and sports lifestyle and Hannah had the total expertise and effective therapy techniques enabling me to enjoy a good quality of life and health. The techniques she uses to ease some chronic soreness in my arms ...I've not seen one other RMT in town ever use... and it worked! Not only that she is a good listener, attentive and has a great sense of humour. One of the best in town. A+. She is moving & starting a clinic Courtenay, BC and I will miss her dearly.

The woman who I think was the manager was friendly and helpful (she helped me pick out a colour as well - even after I sat down she brought options over to me while my feet were soaking). The technicians were fun and did good jobs - but I had noticed that the last 3-4 pedicures I've had (I travel a lot and seldom go for pedis so they're all in different places) don't do a great job of callus removal - so maybe times have changed since I used to come out with baby soft feet (or maybe my feet are past the baby soft stage of life ) But the experience was great and we ended up playing a fun game - can't share my secrets with you but staff and other clients all played along and everyone was smiling!) I would go back again - everyone was so nice and the massage and hot stone and hot towel was wonderful!
