Someone mentioned Mena's Hair to me at a party over a month ago and recommended it because his wife went and he said our hair was similar. He spoke highly of the business but I was still hesitant. I love the fact that they are 24 hours! That's fantastic because I'm a super early bird! I had found the one closest to home and read the reviews on Yelp DAILY lol trying to make a decision. Today was the day! Instead of heading to the gym, I decided to go get my hair done. I arrived and the door was locked which was good because it was early but Emed saw me :) he smiled and advised the gentleman to open the door. I was greeted by a crew of nice men who said "good morning, how are you?" Which was nice because I'm the annoying morning person and I love to greet and be greeted lol I felt comfortable and the young man at the desk asked what services I needed. Basic, wash, deep conditioning and blow out. I went to get a cape, and got right to the shampoo bowl. Emed was incredible! Solid wash! I know the reviews said rough but I like rough because my scalp needs cleaning! The conditioner treatment was nice, sitting under the steamer. I was then sent to Aydin. He was very kind and did a fantastic job on my hair! I felt like a new woman! I appreciate what Mena's offers and I was out the door in 75 minutes! I will definitely be back!

After a thorough consultation the fun begins. They have a closed shampoo room, with lowered lighting, soothing music, aromatherapy and a wonderful scalp massage. The hair color for my MIL was always perfect - a strawberry blonde. For myself I am natural white and grey. I occasionally get some 'color' on my white- I have done blue, pink, lavender and most recently a dark purple. Essie always works with me of if I want to let my hair grow out or when I want it all cut off.

The salon is clean, open and airy with a nice R&B playlist going in the background! You know how with some stylists when they blow dry and use a flat iron/curler to your hair you can feel the extreme heat on your scalp and ear? I didn't feel a thing the entire time. The next time I went, my stylist was a much larger gentleman (not sure of his name) who used ALOT of heat. That's fine if the hair strands are thick and can handle it, but one look at my hair and you can see that each strand is fine. Although he did use heat protectant, he passed once with Marcels, then again with flat irons, and then again to curl with the flat irons. My hair was basically flat to my head with curls at the bottom. Fluffing didn't help. Fast forward two weeks, a deep condition, hair mask, steam treatment, and wash... the heat damage is irreversible. I'm not mad at anyone. It was the risk I took. Bottom line: The service isn't personalized to your hair or even your hair type. Just whatever makes your hair look aesthetically appealing, regardless of the method or the damage it may cause.

I went there, the place is decently spacey and also they have a lot of customers which is a plus for me because thats how i know that they are good because people actually come over there. I got my eyelashes done and I LOVE IT! It looks natural and it lasts for 4 weeks now. Keep in mind you can come back in 3 weeks after you get them done for refills. Customer service was really good and they are very friendly. I would recommend this for people who are trying to get their EYELASHES done.
