Greed is not good. Michael Douglas' famous line in the 1987…read moremovie "Wall street" was: "Greed is good!" This company seems to live by that motto. After asking for an estimate for a simple job, consisting in removing a shower glass door and then to put it back in its place, I received an estimate from Avery for $ 250. Also received an invoice from them, for $ 125 to be paid for the removal and $ 125 to be paid, after the plumbing work was completed days later, for the reinstallation of the glass door. Unfortunately they were unable to do the removal part of the job on the day I needed, so I had someone else remove the door for $ 125 (unscrew 4 screws holding the two hinges of the door to the wall). When I called Avery back and asked just for the reinstallation of the glass door, they now quoted me the same amount of $ 250, already quoted to perform both operations, even if half of the job, the removal, had already been performed by the other company. Their explanation is that they made a mistake when they originally quoted me the job, a month before, and when they issued the invoice. I replied it was certainly not my fault if they made a mistake and that it was very unprofessional on their part to make the client pay for their mistake. I ended up hiring a more professional company, which installed the glass door for $ 125, which is by the way the correct market price for such a job in my area. My advice to you is stay away from this company, there are plenty of alternatives available who are more honest and less greedy.
