Take out chippy and restaurant right by the wharf. The place is a bit hidden on the waterside of the building next to several other restaurants. They have four seasonal options for fish and chips, including the popular ling and flake fish. They also have blue grenadier, which is what McD's FilletOfFish is made of. Their oysters are great and reasonably priced. Menu also includes breakfast and burgers. Service is friendly. Toilet is in the car park (public). read more

Shocking service. And food. Great location . This is our 2nd year trip to Eden we came before but this time hoped that they have improved (dont get coffee here unless you are not fussed and not from Melbourne). Sat down at the "restaurant" side of this place after miserable rainy morning road trip we wanted a nice calamari and chips from a true seafood place..$23.50 for small chips with calamari (plus apple juice). Calamari had cheap crumb mix (the kind that is processed yellow and orange stuff from a box) yuk. We sort of ate it after asked for some tomato sauce (not a usual request apparently) from the waiter who wasn't sure if he's allowed to give it! Our apple juice was served in a plastic cup. Tartare sauce was also served in a tiny plastic container. So was the additional tomato sauce. I did have a look around if I am sitting in what they call a "restaurant"? Plastic ?? Anyways since I was sharing with my daughter I asked for additional plate and cutlery and lady just brought the plate.. Was I meant to eat with fingers! Asked for fork and knife again and was given an eye roll;) after she brought the f/k tightly rolled in the napkin (though that's the thing of the past due to hygiene purposes but not here) was told that usually they suppose to charge for extra cutlery/sauce etc.. Yes fine never asked for free but what's up with the attitude;) so here you go $23.5 later I left $.90 cents extra for plastic tiny tomato sauce and f/k with fingerprinted napkin. Have not enjoyed it at all and the sad thing is that I am not a fussy person at all not even a foodie but this experience has angered me so much that for the last 30min I have used my 3G to download Yelp and let you all know how not worth it this place is! Happy holidays ;) Correction: went past this place one evening and realized that what they call a restaurant was actually up the stairs, perhaps this explains why we got the strange service being in the downstairs area which we were told was a restaurant! Still calamari was not yum. Also it is not fare from our side to give this place a low score for the whole experience as we only had one dish on the menu, regardless I won't be back as it was unnecessary and very unpleasant to be treated as if we wanted free sauce and free extra plate and cutlery for a toddler! read more

Disappointing at best. We were told we would have to pay for water, something that violates laws regarding licensed establishments, and they charge for extra cutlery and plates. I almost was overcharged for my drinks as the woman at the counter thought she knew the prices off by heart and was mistaken. I left, parched and dissatisfied, happy to never go there again. read more
