They weren't just bartenders to me, they were friends. Even if I were just passing by, Salvatore and Sandra made it a point to say hi. It made me feel comfortable and at home in a city I had lived in for only mere days (I am American). Oh yeah, their drinks at great. They have a terrific selection of cocktails that they make with care and expertise. They take pride in their craft while maintaining an atmosphere of friendliness. It truly is a great place to grab some drinks and make some friends. I would recommend it to anyone, and I hope to be back in Valencia soon to be back there. Mi pub favorito en España. Arriving without a reservation on a Saturday, we were seated without a wait; service was welcoming, quick, and very friendly. Tip: The starter we chose (with advice from our server) was the steamed mussels. As our server had said, we found that a single portion was more than enough for two to share. We also enjoyed several cocktails with our meal that day; my favorite by far was the Pumpkin amuse - delicious! For our main, we shared the fillet of ray (tronco rodaballo). This dish was beautiful to look at, with a taste profile that bordered on distilled awesomeness :-) Bottom line: Fabulous views, excellent service, and wonderful food made our experience here one that I look forward to repeating. While the prices for bread, wine, and coffee were a bit on the high side, the overall cost of our meal was more than reasonable given the quality of the food and the service.

It's located in a hotel, which normally isn't my thing but I feel like some of my favorite bars in Spain are connected to a hotel. The vibe is classy but casual, kind of a throwback to a vintage era. The vibe was nice, not too crowded at the time I went (6/7pm). Cocktails were great! Fun, specialty cocktails created based on the different regions of Spain; but also the classics available on the menu. In typical fashion, servers brought me some little snacks with my drinks, which I enjoyed as I people watched and hung out. Located in a cute area with additional restaurants, bars and points of interest nearby. A must visit when in Valencia.

We were there mid-afternoon and they weren't busy. Service was ok. Ambience must have looked better in the 1950s. (I'm guessing it looks better at night.) Agua de Valencia was perfectly fine but not life changing. It was nice to sit down for and take a break from touristing.
