My recent experience with 2 Mountains has been deeply disappointing and frustrating. The primary issue revolves around unexpected and undisclosed charges, coupled with significant communication problems and services that were not completed when he came the first time.
Initially, I was surprised by an invoice that included a "$140 deployment fee" which was never discussed or mentioned prior to receiving the bill. When questioned, Alex, stated this fee covers "travel and wear of equipment," costs which I believe are standard business expenses that should not be passed directly to the customer. This fee was not present on a previous invoice, making its sudden appearance even more perplexing.
Furthermore, there was a clear discrepancy in the amount of material moved previously (4.5 yards instead of the agreed-upon 7 yards, despite an additional $60 paid for labor). For the current job, I was quoted an initial price for distributing soil, only to be later informed of an additional $200 in labor, on top of the new deployment fee, for a job that essentially only required adding more material due to running out. I had already agreed to an extra labor fee on the previous job, making these new, substantial charges completely unreasonable and uncommunicated.
Communication throughout this process was a major concern. Despite my attempts to text and call to confirm appointments, Alex left me waiting for hours without a response. This lack of clear and timely communication created uncertainty and wasted my time, especially when trying to ascertain if the job would be completed as discussed.
Alex also repeatedly brought up "junk removal" and the possibility of a "Google review" as a courtesy, which seemed irrelevant to my financial concerns and requests for clarification on the invoice. I made it clear that a review would only be given once the job was completed to my satisfaction, yet this point was continuously raised.
Ultimately, Alex stated he would not change their policy on the deployment fee, indicating an unwillingness to find common ground on what I consider to be an unfair and undisclosed charge. (As well as the original quoted price NOT being honored based on the amount of material to be moved). This entire experience has left me feeling that promises were not delivered upon and that my time was wasted due to a lack of transparency and poor communication. read more
