My haircut was very uneven. I find many barbers try to style my hair before letting me see it as a trick to hide a bad job. It looks good after that but once wash it I find that hair length is all over the place. I'm positive there's a patch not that was not cut when I said to take an inch off the top. On top of this, 1857 smelled pretty strongly of marijuana and they don't take credit cars in 2017 (have you heard of Square?) The only good thing about my visit was that I was seated as soon as I came in. i wont be coming back with the unprofessional atmosphere and very bad cut.

Fabian will hook you up. Go in and check them out. Everyone there is really cool. I'm from NorCal and needed a fresh cut and shave and Fabian took his time and did a great job. No complaints over here. The service was A-1!!! Thanks again!

The worst haircut and experience of my life. I had been here a couple of times before, but I found out today that my regular Barber no longer works here when I came in for a haircut(can clearly see why he left now). So I decided to try out the new Butcher...sorry, "Barber" that was in the shop. "EZCuts", he reckons his name is. EZCu*t would be more accurate. I should have left when the red flags popped up when I asked him how long he had been cutting hair, and he said since 2018 when he got out of FEDERAL PRISON. Inmates and convicts might be satisfied with the monstrosity of a haircut this clown produces, but regular people like myself expect a reasonable standard. This idiot asks me what I want and I said, I don't want anything off the top, just fade the sides and back down to a 1, don't go too short. I even show him a picture for reference of what I was hoping to achieve. He said he could do that no problem. He couldn't have done a worser job if he tried. Not only did he go down to basically below a 0 and make me bald on the sides. Everything was entirely uneven and didn't fade at all. He took my length off the top when I asked him not to. He took my sides up too far. There is no tapered or squared off technique at the back. He then started using a straight edge razor and was cutting my head with it vertically, essentially breaking the skin and causing my head to bleed everywhere. A little nip would have been forgivable, but he basically went shiv happy like he was back in the joint and sliced up each side of my head making me bleed everywhere. He then hands me a tissue and asks me to apply pressure to my head because I'm bleeding a bit. Mate, are we in a Barber shop or the Emergency Room!? He managed to push my hairline back and make the sides and corners completely bald and had the audacity to tell me it came out exactly the way he envisioned it, despite me specifically telling him that's not what I wanted. He also mentioned he does eyebrows as well, as if I wanted him to put a blade anywhere near my eyeballs, after the nightmare he's just done to my head. I'm absolutely devastated by this experience and this cretin clearly doesn't have a license to cut hair, nor the qualifications or training needed and required. He needs to go back to prison for this haircut, because this is a parole violation honestly. He's lucky I still even paid him, I even still tipped him because I'm nice like that. But seriously, screw EZCuts, and this barber shop all together. Never coming back here and strongly suggest everyone to avoid this place all together.

If you are looking to get a haircut please don't go to 1857 barber shop. I highly advise that you save your money and time and go down the street to Cali Style. They took good care of me after getting the worst haircut of my life at 1857. On my visit to 1857 I get a haircut from the so called owner of the shop who is trippen off Xanax and gives me the worst haircut ever where I have various bald spots and uneven lines. Worst $25 I have ever spent. NEVER COMING BACK.

Brought my son and nephew for cuts with Bobby. He's very professional and talented. Both boys have very different styles. Bobby worked with both their styles and head shapes. He does a clean fade and line up. Very happy with his work. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Nice place to get a haircut. Now this is a barber shop, not a hair salon. I moved out of the area where a lady used to cut my hair at a salon. So, I needed a new place. After going to a couple places which couldn't accommodate me because I was a "walk-in", this place told me, "Sure, we take walk-ins!". Anyhow they said we're busy, but it goes fast. Price is competitive at $25 for a haircut. I can't believe I just wrote that. But, I have to remember it's post Covid and everything is so much more than before. He did a nice job (Sergio) and the whole staff is very friendly. I highly recommend. read more

The quality of care was everything for me. My youngest son has autism and is more of a challenge with hair cuts. Bobby was caring and 100% patient while cutting his hair. He then proceeded to cut my teenagers hair and my son was very happy with his hair cut. Price and location overall was really good. Definitely recommend! read more

Having arrived here on holiday from NZ. 4 boys and myself was in much need for a haircut. We had been unfortunate getting spots in other barbershop without having to book. These guys even though were busy still took us in on such a short notice. Very humbling experience and very professional in the way they conducted there business. Worst experience of my life never coming back , guy sat me on his chair just to wait 45 minutes more kept acting weird, kept asking me what kind of hair cut I wanted ( literally 5 times )I kept asking for a skin taper and a beard line up 1 hr later starts cutting my hair suddenly shaves one side of my beard off smh! Doesn't even noticed it I kept my cool didn't even say anything , then he keeps goofing around 45 more minutes pass by hair cut was all messed up half of my beard is gone didn't even bother to shave the other side , the back of my neck wasn't even shave had to go home and do it my self, worst 25 dollars ever spend and sad part was going out in public and people staring at my hairy neck and my one sided beard !!! This place is over the top expensive.... $30.00 for an alright fade, fucked up line up and a shitty beard trim. 1st and last time I go there. Try not to go on a Friday or Saturday they start drinking. Maybe that's why my hair cut came out terrible. Save yourself time and money. I highly don't recommend this place. read more

Came in at 9:15am i waited for 2mins. When this gentlemen greated me, he called another barber mr. Chris (aka lil chris) let me tell you this man is by far the best barber I've ever had he was really professional and at the same time extremely friendly, i love this place the atmosphere is amazing the art work and the staff is pretty cool as well, it's safe to say i will be coming back its been the best 20 bucks I've ever spend for a hair cut. If you are around the Anaheim area i strongly suggest this place. From 1-10 they hands down get a 1000 in my point of view. Good lo read more

Completely LOVE this place! I live around the corner and brought my son in after reading the good reviews (the distance was a perk). Can't say enough about the crew. The staff is great, welcoming and professional. They all have creative dedication to each of their clients. First time getting a cut here, was recommended by a friend. This place is by appointments only and is really convenient, walked in and waited about 5 mins and David was ready to cut my hair. I was really happy with my haircut, the barber was very meticulous and took attention to detail. The crew is very welcoming as you walk in, the cut is $20 but well worth it. Needless to say I'll be coming back, I think I found my new barber spot! read more

We originally waited at Cali Barber Shop but it was too long of a wait, so my husband wanted to go someplace else. We ended up going to 1857 Parlor and didn't have to wait. However we wouldn't come here again after the haircut. Both my dad's and husband's finished haircut was eh. I don't think the barbers asked the right questions or bothered even asking. Overpriced for an okay cut. read more

I asked for a beard trim for the tips only and the guy cut shorter. I should of gotten # 8 clippers and done it myself. I also asked for a clean up, and for him to go around whatever line I had. The dude ended up going lower, doing his own style. And my mustache, he ended up above my lip line. Man I'm just going to shave it all off now and grow it again. 25 buck for a shitty job. Sucks for me because my beard takes forever to grow!!!!! If they don't know how to do beard jobs they should just give it to someone else that does. Not coming back here for sure. They're cool guys but dam!!! But that dude needs to go back to barber school. Good thing I didn't get a haircut. I feel he does his thing and does not do what you ask for. read more

Looking for a good cutt Edgar is your man. He's been cutting my hair for a while now and been coming to his shop since it opened . Edgar is real professional and pays attention to every little detail, I do auto detailing myself and I'm also the same way. All the barbers there make you feel so welcome, offering water while you wait or changing the tv on what ever you want. Shop is real clean all the time. NEVER LETTING NO ONE ELSE CUTT MY HAIR!!! read more

I started going with Edgar when he was in barber school. Once he got done with school he let me know he was going to open up shop. I was excited to hear he was was locating to Anaheim, my home town. Been going with him for years now and I don't see me changing anytime too. Takes care of his clients and has those razor sharp skills. The hot towel shave is a must do! read more

Hot Towel Shave Traditional Style Cuts Fades

History

Established in 2014.

Anaheim was founded in 1857 by a group of German settlers who gave it the German name meaning "home by the river." The settlers were part of a group who first came to the United States during the German Revolution of 1848 and settled in San Francisco. Fifty members of that German community decided to move south when they learned about an abundance of cheap land that was once part of a Spanish land grant. The German colonists purchased the 1,165 acres of coastal plains for $2 an acre. Two of the Germans had a wine-making business. Attracted by the area's moderate climate, the settlers decided to make wine production the region's economic foundation. A civil engineer named George Hansen was hired to plan a carefully thought-out community with fences to protect the planned vineyards from roaming cattle. To allow future growth, specific parcels were set aside for construction of a school and other public buildings.

Usually, with other barbers, the first few days my hair takes time to fall into place, but with Sam it looked perfect on day one, even better than expected. He is incredibly skilled and really understands how to create a clean, modern look. On top of that, he has a great vibe, he is professional, and he makes the whole experience enjoyable. The barbershop itself looks amazing, very stylish, and the entire team is professional. I am genuinely excited that I found one of the best barbers for my type of hair. I look forward to continuing to get my haircuts with him, and I totally recommend Sam and his team to anyone who wants a consistently great and professional haircut. Also, it says a lot about his work and his brand that he already has two locations and is about to open a third one. That level of growth reflects the quality he delivers. Highly recommended.

But I've also seen plenty of other people come in, explain what they want, and leave satisfied with their cuts. Over the years I've gotten all kinds of hairstyles here too fades, tapers, spiked hair, mohawks, comb overs, etc. so they definitely know what they're doing. The vibe is chill and welcoming. They usually have around 3 barbers working, so if one is busy and you're short on time another barber might be available. You can also call ahead and ask how long the wait is or just walk in and see if they're packed that day. Overall just solid service and good people. Been coming here for years for a reason.

The barber shop specializes in modern men's cuts. [Price]: $38 for classic cut with complementary hair wash (upon request) and/or hot towel included. $55 for haircut & beard trim with complementary hair wash (upon request) and/or hot towel included. They use Square so credit cards are accepted. [Appointment]: I was able to schedule a same-day appointment through their website (vagaro.com), but customers are required to create an account. I received a text message confirmation and the staff asked if I had an appointment upon arrival. [Process]: The shop had a TV playing a sports game during my haircut. I had Anita and she was both friendly and efficient. I requested a low taper fade and showed her a reference photo on my phone. She completed the cut in less than 20 minutes and honestly I was pleased with the result. However, I later noticed the price listing on the wall which mentioned that the haircut includes a complimentary hair wash ... upon request. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of this or informed at the time so I didn't receive the complimentary shampoo during my visit. [Conclusion]: Personally, this barber shop is a bit out of the way for me and I find $38 slightly pricey for a classic haircut without the shampoo. With that being said, the quality of the haircut execution was excellent. Just be sure to request the complimentary shampoo to get the most out of your experience here.

This place is absolutely the best. The owner (Vino) who is also the main barber at the shop pays close attention to detail and focuses on costumer satisfaction. Unlike most barbershops, 1857 parlor cares more about the craft than to make a quick buck. They do all sorts of cuts here and also offer hot towel shaves. Extremely upscale for a reasonable price. They posted store hours were open until 8pm. I came in at 7:12pm and they refused to give me a haircut. Wasted time and money for nothing. Do not recommend if you plan to go an hour within closing. read more
