Unfortunately, I have to leave a negative review for Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy…read more When you pick up medication in person, the staff is courteous and professional. That part deserves acknowledgment. However, my experience with their delivery service has been consistently problematic, and at this point, unacceptable. I will not mention names, but the delivery drivers they outsource to are unreliable, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. I've experienced repeated delivery issues, including false claims that my address was incorrect, despite the fact that they have delivered to this same address before, albeit with ongoing problems. What makes this worse is the timing. There is an incoming snowstorm, and instead of clear communication or accountability, I'm receiving inaccurate information and excuses. Medication is not optional. This is not a package from an online retailer. This is someone's health. I am now seriously considering transferring my prescriptions elsewhere. Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy should reevaluate the third-party delivery partners they choose to work with. Thank your delivery partner for losing patient trust and potentially compromising access to essential medication. Courtesy at the counter does not make up for a delivery failure. Reliability matters. Accountability matters. And right now, those standards are not being met. Very disrespectful and inconsiderate - they have no regard for the elderly and the disabled.

Next day, I call in the morning and am told that the cashier would call the driver and get back to me. They never did. When I called back 2.5 hours later, I am told that they did talk to the driver and my meds were back at the pharmacy and I could pick them up now. When I did, I also wanted to talk to the pharmacist about what happened as I was annoyed. His story about what happened didn't align with the cashier's and he couldn't give me a direct answer about why I never received the meds the day before. It was all double speak; Somehow my meds were both never picked up AND picked up. I don't like being misled.

Pharmacy - 4 stars The pharmacy is great for the most part…read more It doesn't stay open for very long on weekends and major holidays, so be wary of that. If there's a problem with your prescription, the pharmacists are almost always willing to help you resolve the issue, rather than leave you to figure it out on your own. The pharmacy manager is definitely the best; she's very knowledgeable and offers great customer service. The wait time for picking up prescriptions is sometimes long, but I guess there isn't much that can be done about that. I wish they had more chairs in the waiting area - as of now, there are only three. Photo Shop - 5 stars I haven't patronized this Walgreens's photo shop very much, so I can't give a comprehensive review of it. I've mainly visited it for passport photos. In my experience, the wait time has always been minimal and the staff very helpful. No complaints. They offer personalized photo products, but I can't attest to the quality or wait time of these products as I've never purchased them. It's also stocked with a good amount of SD and miniSD cards, as well as some old-fashioned Kodak disposable cameras (not sure if they offer to process the film from these cameras, though). I'm pretty sure they also sell digital cameras. Beauty Department - 4 stars They carry all the major pharmacy brands. They have a lot of L'Oreal, Maybelline, and Revlon makeup products; a good number of products from all the other brands (Milani, Rimmel, Wet n Wild, Sally Hansen); and some random cheap brands. They also carry a good selection of perfumes and colognes, but these are stored behind the register, so you have to ask to see them. They also do let you sample them, which is helpful. They also carry some beauty tools, grooming tools, and nail products. I had to knock off a star, however, for the annoying way that they stock their personal care products, which are in the same aisle as their beauty products. The deodorants are kept behind individual sliding plastic 'doors' that have to be slid all the way down to the end to get a product from the middle. The razors are kept behind a lock and you have to ring the customer service bell to get a person to come unlock it for you. You'll find yourself pressing the bell multiple times before anyone comes to help you. When someone does finally come, it'll be someone who appears to be very annoyed and who stands over you as you inspect the product. It's just easier to get a nearby working employee to help you than to ring the bell. They claim these added safety measures are to prevent shoplifting, but they just make the shopping experience more difficult than it needs to be. Also, if shoplifting is such a big problem that they have to lock up their products, then what the hell is the security guard who stands at the front of the beauty aisle doing? Customer Service - 3 stars The customer service is hit-or-miss here. Some employees offer impeccable customer service, even running around the entire store just to find a product for you. Others give minimal effort to helping you, if they even give any effort at all. One thing I know for sure: if you want any product that's locked up (razors, hair styling tools, special feminine hygiene products) FOR THE LOVE OF GOD don't ring the bell. It takes forever for anyone to help you and the loudspeaker makes an annoying announcement every time you press it (which causes people to stare at you and be annoyed with you). Just find an employee who's walking around or something. Or visit the Rite-Aid across the street, which doesn't have nearly as many items locked up. Overall - 4 stars The store is small, so it may not have everything you came for. If you use the Walgreens website's 'Find in Store' feature, it's not always accurate for this store (or for any Walgreens stores, really). Often times, I have looked up a product on the website, found it to be listed as 'In Stock' in this store, and visited the store just to find that they either are out of stock or never even carried it. The best stocked aisles are the dental hygiene aisle, the home cleaning aisle, the personal care aisle (probably because no one can reach the locked up products in this aisle), and the food aisle. They now have a rewards card, which is pretty useful. I recommend signing up for it. You don't even have to carry it when you purchase things, you can just enter the phone number you signed up for the card with at the register and you'll get the rewards. Customer service is alright, depending on the person who helps you. The lines sometimes get long, and they often open up a register in another department when this happens. They have good, sizable parking behind the building, so that's a plus. Overall, it's not a bad store, but not exceptional either.

I have the red Extra…read moreCare Card in my app, which clearly states, 'Faster Pickup' and 'For prescription pickup and Extra Care Savings'. CVS apparently has 2 cards in the app, there is a blue card for the drive thru and it's clearly marked that way. This particular clerk can't seem to find my information by scanning the red card ever. I believe this is the 3rd time I've had this happen with her and only her. I never have an issue with any other clerk, ever. Today she wouldn't scan the card. She had me scan it after she tried to tell me that my prescriptions weren't going to come up with the red card. They did, as they always have with other clerks. I showed her exactly what it said. She then told me I don't have a card on file. I do, as a matter of fact, I picked up a prescription last week with the same exact information from the CVS app. I didn't have to take out my card or phone to pay. Every single time I've dealt with this particular person, she cannot find my card. Then she proceeds to tell me it's not on file. It shows that it's available in the app. This might seem like a minor inconvenience, but why should I have a card on file to pay for my prescriptions, if I'm going to be told it's not available? I'm done with this CVS. I've had other issues in the past. This was the last straw. Switching to Capsule. I'll shop at Walgreens from now on for anything else I might need.

Finally decided to go via the Pharmacy to see if you I could get someone to answer. Well after navigating through the horrible automated voice activated answering prompts, I got to a place where I could leave a message for the Pharmacy. The Pharmacist called me back within 10 mins and was so Rude and dismissive. She stated that someone from the store was in front of her and she would transfer me so that I could speak to her for the phone to ring twice and then hang up. Never received a call back although the Pharmacist called me and whomever she was speaking to while I was on the phone with her, never called me, knowing she didn't speak to me. One would think, she would have went to the pharmacist and say hey the call did not go through do you have a way of reaching that CUSTOMER. No, never got a call back and after being disconnected I tried to call back to the pharmacy, this time I was connected directly to the pharmacy and they phone just kept me on hold like they could see my number and did refused to answer. I hung up after realizing they weren't going to answer and called CVS Customer Relations. I am currently on hold with Corporate Customer Relations and that store is not even answering them, although they have back numbers. This type of stuff only happens in certain communities, this being one of them. But I called corporate and informed them that this is unacceptable, I blame the Store Manager for not making sure all calls are answered in a timely fashion to help assist with questions about products or services from this location. They really have to do better, I will call again next week to see if they answer the phone and if they don't I will be posting an update regarding their response. Side note, I get my scripts from Manhattan and never Ever had a problem with them answering the phone. I wonder why that is?

I typically don't write reviews unless an issue is persistent, but after at least three separate…read morenegative experiences, I felt compelled to share this. Most recently, we attempted to pick up a prescribed antibiotic cream for our 4-month-old baby with mild dermatitis. The first staff member we encountered couldn't locate the prescription in their system, despite it having been sent by our pediatrician. Her response was dismissive and unhelpful: "I can't do anything; it's not in the computer." We confirmed with the pediatrician that the prescription was correctly sent and even had them resend it, this was not the first time this Walgreens failed to find an active prescription. Eventually, a more senior staff member located it and told us it would be prepared. Ten minutes later, they returned saying it would cost over $800 because it was not covered by insurance. The next day, our pediatrician's office was stunned. Their in-house pharmacy provided us with two tubes of the same cream at no cost and apologized profusely. I don't know what is wrong with the system, or staff, at this location, but quoting $800 for a simple antibiotic cream and repeatedly failing to locate prescriptions is unacceptable. We are switching pharmacies permanently. It's deeply concerning to consider what could happen if a more urgent or life-saving medication were involved. This level of disorganization and carelessness is not just inconvenient, it's dangerous. I just don't have the time and energy to engage myself in suing them. Finally, I'd like to make one more observation. While the line at this pharmacy is usually not long, typically 3 to 5 people, it consistently moves painfully slowly. It often takes 20-30 minutes just to serve a single customer. I don't want to speak on behalf of others, but it's hard to ignore the visible frustration and frequent complaints from people ahead of us. This recurring pattern strongly suggests that systemic issues are affecting more than just isolated cases. I may not know each customer's situation, but from what I've seen repeatedly, I am likely not alone in experiencing major service failures at this location. My advice: stay away, especially if you're trying to fill an active or time-sensitive prescription.
