Originally they said I owed $2k, after my own research and telling them what to do my refund was $26k. It took months for them to handle some relatively simple Schedule C and Section 179 depreciation expense. I had all my docs to them by mid-February. They didn't file until April. Then they put the wrong account number for my efile return and this caused it to go into an IRS black hole where I had to file a complaint with my senator, and work with an IRS advocate to finally get my refund in September. Their incompetence lead to me having to wait 8 months and spend enormous amounts of time, energy, and effort to fix their mistakes. I'm sure they'll have some evasive response working responsibility. At this point they called me about the payments, and after explaining why I missed, they said that the only thing they could do is "move" the payments to the end. A year later, when I'm only $1300 away from paying my car off after accelerating my payments so I don't have to deal with them any more, in 1 month I had: To replace the starter motor. To replace the alternator. To replace the power steering pump. To replace the front brakes. And th engine lost compression in two cylinders. I sent them them an email with the invoices and the estimate to replace the engine, and after reviewing they said there was nothing they could do because the car shop wasn't ASE certified.
