I had to get my Iphone fixed at the Ipod Repair Centre, which is next door to Loan Star. It didn't look too sketchy from the front as I walked by, so I decided to just stop in. The sign outside said "Edmontons' Favorite Pawnshop", and it didn't take me long to figure out why!! the store was very well laid out, with sections for tools, guitars, electronics, and what looked like 1000 dvds' and bluray movies. Everything in this place was clean and well displayed. I was greeted as I walked in, but then left alone for a few minutes as I gawked at the 30+ guitars they had well placed on the wall. Then i had a conversation with one of the owners, who seemed to know as much about the guitars as the manufacturers did. He told me I was more than welcome to grab a guitar off the wall and plug it into one the many amps they had plugged in and give it a go!! Well, in the end I didn't end up buying a guitar, but did walk out with a surprise gift for my wife. I hope she likes the diamond earrings I got her for $200.00. They even came with an appraisal from the same guy I get all her jewellery appraised from. The owner said they get about 50 or 60 pairs made up every year due to the demand for them. I'm still not a big fan of pawnshops, but I am now a HUGE fan of Loan Star!!! These guys know their business, that's for sure!!

I had a hard time trying to choose from so many but the staff truly helped me out!! I had 2 groupons but they only allowed me to use one... and that's in the rules! I also showed my id and it did not bother me! My guitar was $199 and I had to pay the groupon difference which was ONLY $49. WHen I went home I looked online to see if their prices were good...and I saw the same guitar for almost $400. That means with groupon I only paid $70...and the difference of $49.... meaning only $119 from my pocket!! My experience was fabulous and the price was even better!! Some of my friends already bought items and we are all happy! I am planning to go back again and have my husband use the other groupon! C.
