They agreed to install roof panels for us on a Wanessa Sue foam and steel building and dry in our…read moregarage. They are out of Lake Havasue and our property is in Kingman. Sean told me they were arriving at 0700, they arrived at 0830 because they stopped to eat breakfast, which okay it happens.... but then the packed up at 11:30 to head home this happened for 4 days. When they started installing the underlayment the left early, and did not secure OSB panels or underlayment, and the blew off the roof and the underlayment started blowing off. When the job was completed we had a storm come throughout and we had a leak, the did come out a couple days and storms later and secured the underlayment. Although I like and respect Sean and his brother, I cannot in good faith recommend using them.

I can't even believe that Sunset Homes has 5 stars. They are a contractor that hires outside…read morecontractors... not an actual builder with their own employees. Most importantly, there were at least 2 of his subcontractors that were not licensed!!! I looked them up! DO NOT DO A CUSTOM HOME WITH THIS MAN!! He referred us to an architect named Rick. Rick missed some very important information on the plans that we told him over and over were wrong. Somehow the final plans were not the ones we approved. The problems ended up costing us over $12,000. It appears that they work together. They didn't seal around the windows at all. I asked if he was going to do this and he simply replied, "No." The grout was not sealed, so I was on my hands and knees doing it myself upon move-in. Just shoddy building all over. Our tile and brick is installed incorrectly and looks like crap! We have cracked tiles in the floor. There was a bait and switch on the tile. The tiles on the shower walls are hollow. That will fail soon. He told us we would have aluminum windows (which is what I specifically wanted) before we signed the contract, but Milgard discontinued them which, of course, he already knew. We've thought about fighting it, but I don't ever want to see his face again. His son is an electrician and terrible. He has almost every socket in our RV garage on the same circuit! They tried to pull a fast one on electrical with the inspector, but I got the inspector back out. We have exposed wood on the roof and tiles that aren't even secure. Also, so many things that we were told were included were an upgrade after we signed the contract. BE SURE THAT EVERYTHING YOU WANT IS ON THE PLAN EXACTLY HOW YOU WANT IT AND HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK!!! All I kept hearing was, "It's not on the plan." I really liked Justin in the beginning and trusted him. I was sooo wrong.

After taking a second look at our space, Bert hawked a big loogie on our freshly laid decorative rock (true story!) and began telling us how he would need to "sharpen his pencil" for a more competitive offer. Fast forward 3 months later when we emailed Bert and asked him why he never sent us an estimate. He apologized for his lack of professionalism but STILL has yet to deliver an estimate for the work. If I could designate a subject line for this review it would have to be "don't spit in the face of your customer".
