We took the funicular to the valley which runs every 15 minutes then an elevator takes you to the Skydeck platform. You may also use the stairs to walk across the bridge. Hallstatt is a 1997 UNESCO world heritage site and known for the production of salt. The platform is over looking Lake Hallstatt and below is the village. There's also a restaurant at this platform. It gets crowded as everyone wants to take a photo at the very edge. You just need to be aggressive and jump right in or else it'll take forever because no one will yield to you if you politely think you're standing in line. There were multiple tour groups and they were not friendly and kept cutting.

After the war, the area was rezoned for a housing development and much of the camp is now family homes and gardens. However, some of the site remains along with a memorial wall. The museum in town is also on yelp and called "Zeitgeschichte Museum und KZ-Gedenkstätte Ebensee" and you should start there and then come visit the actual site. There are also "Tunnels" you can visit that were dug by this camp's prisioners during the war to hide underground the V2 rocket production. The museum can tell you more.

The only way to see the castle if you pay a guided tour. Which is not a problem but they dont tell you this when you huy the ticket so you are pretty much screwed. All of the inside is closed!!! Everything is free to visit except for the catacombs which cost not very much at all. The catacombs will only take you about 15 minutes to explore but there are very very steep stairs that you need to climb to get to them. Everything else you could explore in less than an hour. Does Abby is right next to the Funicular taking you up to the fortress so it's a good idea to tour both of these at the same time.
