Recently I have been dealing with my 13 yr old dog that has been fighting a cough. This cough has gotten progressively worst so I took her in Feb. 2011 to my regular local vet in West Mobile and they could not diagnose it ( said it could be many things - they don't know) so they gave me cough pills for her. Then in May I came in for more pills because she was not better. In Nov. it was unbearable with the sweet little dog was coughing all day and night. When I took her back the W. Mobile vet they quoted me $500 to run tests to "maybe" figure out what it is. WELL I HAD HAD ENOUGH!! Enter 2nd opinion VET.... I have a relative that lives in Mobile, AL but drives out to Dr. Karl & Kelli Smith in Lucedale, MS for her pet because the fees are so fair and they know what they are doing concerning her pet. So I walked out of the West Mobile Vet and made an appointment in Lucedale, MS. When we arrived (50 minutes - 38 miles) from my home-- the place was very busy with folks and their pets waiting and popping in to buy various medications for their pets. Jennifer at the front desk runs a tight ship and is non stop. We did have to wait but it was well worth it. They took x-rays, gave a shot straight into her throat and other medications. I walked away with an diagnoses about her health and medications and the total bill was only $121 This VET is concerned about your pets, well trained and DO NOT OVER PRICE for their services.
