We drove our Toyota SUV through the car wash, the $8 express. We commented on the force of this car wash, as the car stayed in place and the car wash would move back and forth to clean it. It was like a car wash on steroids. It was not until we got home that we realized the our back spare tire cover had been ripped from the car. We called the gas station and the attendant says she was working alone and could not go retrieve it. We drove back to the gas station/car wash and found the tire cover, destroyed by the next car going through ( most likely). The car wash literally pulled the tire cover from the top, peeling it away. The latch at the bottom was still in the latched closed position. We've been through car washes numerous times and have never had something like this happen. The replacement part is $529 + tax and then it will have to be painted. This $8 car wash turned out to be VERY EXPENSIVE. Recommendation: DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS CAR WASH. Maybe someone called in sick but that location is far too busy to have one attendant working there.
