A few years ago, when I visited Old Mill Toronto, I parked in a covered, two-floor parking lot across the street.
I returned today to check out the Ontario Plant Show that was held at Old Mill. I got there at around 1 pm. I decided to try a different parking lot. I found this one next to the covered lot, but behind a set of condos or apartments.
My guess is that they cater to visitors when the underground lot is full. If you are accessing 20 and 30 Old Mill Road, and Old Mill Toronto, there is plenty of parking in this lot.
My recommendation is that if you have mobility issues and are going to Old Mill Toronto, you want to park in the underground parking lot. It'll make things easier. Parking at this outdoor parking lot required my using a set of stairs to walk up and down to get to Old Mill Road. If you use a wheelchair, you'll need to exit the parking lot where you drove in, cross the street, and then hit the sidewalk. It's a longer route that requires some effort.
Parking is monitored according to the sign. It's $2 for each hour to park. The daily maximum is $12. I didn't know how long I'd be at this plant show, so I paid for two hours of parking with a credit card. I got a parking ticket that you place on your dashboard.
Alternatively, you can pay online. My backup plan was to start another session if I needed more time.
This plant show was smaller than I had anticipated. I did it in an hour. Last year, I went to the Plant Expo and it took me at least three hours to see everything.
If you want a bit of a workout or can't find parking at the underground lot, this lot is a good alternative. It is a one-way lot, which I completely butchered when I first entered it. Luckily, I wasn't the only one who made that mistake and everyone was understanding!
