I had work done by Pacific Star Electric to install a NEMA 14-50 plug in my garage for an EV Charger. It's been 2 years since that install and Tuesday morning I woke to the outlet melted out completely and the inside burned out to the point of failure with the charger plug fused to the receptacle. This is not a wear and tear issue, but coming from the inside of the box due to a loose connection during install. Upon contacting them, they were courteous and polite when telling me I am out of luck and offered full price for a replacement as it was "done to code and inspected". I am not the type to complain, it's a shame that I have to post this, but given the circumstances, it seems worth sharing. read more
