After our all-day volleyball tournament across the street at Spire, we decided to stop for a quick bite at McDonald's before we hopped on the highway for our hour-long drive home. But it ended up being a 45-minute ordeal. When we walked into the lobby, this McDonald's was nicely appointed, but the service was slow.
I ordered a Grand Mac (for the first time) and a side salad with a Shamrock Shake and a water. I was asked if I wanted bottled water or free water. I chose free water.
We then waited about 15 minutes to get our food as the staff bungled around trying to fill orders. They got our order correct and the food was good. Actually, my Grand Mac was very good and I think it should officially replace the Big Mac. The "Big" Mac is a misnomer. I don't remember the last time I tasted a Big Mac, but the Grand Mac is where it's at. Several greens in my side salad were very wilted and or dried out. I think they forgot to toss this one due to a bad expiration date. My Shamrock Shake was delicious and my filtered water had no odd flavors, which is exactly what I wanted.
Besides the wait, the food was tasty. We will now return to our regularly scheduled McDonald's heavily processed food avoidance routine. read more
