Staying with a friend nearby and this was the only coffee shop I could find. (For future reference, I walked the wrong way, there are lots of options down 72nd).
This looks like a Mom and Pop shop, kinda dated and very much tucked away into an industrial park, next to a pub/billiards place. It's quite small, there are a few plugs, and free Wi-Fi. Lots of food options, many drinks to order, as well as lunch specials. I, however, being grain free, couldn't eat anything. So I ordered a smoothie, but even then I had to get stuff I can't have. I think I ordered a chocolate banana smoothie... No peanut butter, no chocolate syrup, add flax and matcha. There's milk in these (ugh, only knew after I paid, it's not on the ingredient list), so I had to make do. So basically... Milk, protein powder, banana, organic flax seeds, matcha, ice.
It was surprisingly sweet and tasty, although, I could tell there's artificial sweetener in the protein powder. Yes, I'm that kind of customer.
They were sweet and accommodating though, or seemed so (there was a definite language barrier). If I could eat the croissant sandwiches, soups, or really anything here, I'd come back if I'm ever in the area. Oh, I did have a nice blueberry tea (not the boozy kind), and it was lovely. read more
