[W] This was a nice hotel just about 30 minutes away from Northstar at Tahoe in Reno, NV. The room we rented out was the Deluxe Tower Room which is no different than the Luxury Tower Room other than it's smoke free (as per the concierge). The only thing that sucked about this room was that I paid for a room with a 42" TV yet there was a sign in front of the TV that said "New! Your 42" HD flatscreen TV on it's way". ...Ok, don't put us in a room where you can't even get all your amenities or put us in a room where we actually paid for the stuff...
Second bummer thing about the room was that THERE IS NO FRIDGE! Man this really kicked us in the butt because you can get quite thirsty at night and there's no fridge to keep cold drinks or even keep your left overs from restaurants that you might want to finish up later.
Third, going back to the TV, a lot of the channels didn't even work! Come on guys, I mean I could've called and changed rooms but it's wasn't that big of a hassle. I mean you're on vacation anyways so most people want to spend more time out and not be spending their time watching TV right? BUT when you DO want to watch TV, you want some things working!
Other than the room, the hotel is actually really nice. I mean you have all your gambling amenities and restaurants to meet your need. Just double check with the tables what the minimums are because we tried playing a roulette table that said "$1 minimum" yet when you play, you have to bet $4 minimum? That doesn't make sense to me. PLUS, if you bet on the outside, you have to bet $4 and that isn't even included in the minimum and you STILL have to bet $4 on the table itself! WTF man! Can you say the house ALWAYS wins? Oh wait, we're in a casino after all HA HA HA. Jokes on me right?!? Oh well.....
Overall the hotel was very pleasant. The staff here was very nice and rooms are clean. You definitely have the amenities of gambling, restaurants ranging from family friendly to an upscale steakhouse to a buffett. This hotel had it all so there's no real complaints here other than the room.
PARKING: One thing you have to make sure of is the parking status. It could just be me but we only found one parking lot that was really for the hotel on the backside of the building. There was parking across the street and on the adjacent lot but we didn't know if that belonged to the hotel or not. read more
