The majority of my life i have avoided Del Tacos due to a traumatic experience at one particular one during my college days. That incident made me steer clear of any future trips to Del Tacos. Well my long running streak ended when my SO dragged me into the East Bidwell shop on a Saturday for afternoon snack. He prefers DT over TB.
First thing I noticed was the clean dining area with modern furniture and decor. No plastic booths here. Next thing that I noticed was that the menu had two meat choices for the hard shell tacos, ground beef or ground turkey. Great. They have colorful artsy signs indicating that the cheese is fresh grated daily on the premise, same goes with dicing the tomatoes and slicing the avocados. I ordered a ground beef taco. I have to say the meat is not dripping in grease and is basic and simple but tasty. The taco was packed with a generous amount of grated cheese. Plus each table in the dining room had a caddy full of sauce packets- ketchup and taco sauces (hot, medium, and mild). Nice.
Ok...I am a convert. In the future I would definitely revisit this Del Taco. read more
