DO NOT COME HERE FOR COLOR TATTOOS!!! I called Ink Fellaz on September 15th, 2023, to set up an appointment for the following day because my husband and I were coming to the area to visit family and celebrate our 6-year anniversary. To honor our relationship, we decided to get matching tattoos on September 16th, 2023. I had set my appointment up with Mike "Bonez" and told him that my husband and I wanted to come in to get matching olive tattoos, I asked if he did color and he said yes. I told him we wanted traditional GREEN olives with the red pimentos, like a martini, but just a single one. We came in for the appointment on time and it took a while for him to set up, thinking about it now, I feel like he was stalling because he was uncomfortable with the design. He originally brought over a black olive design like an olive branch, I showed him my reference photo and reiterated that we wanted a green olive and if he had the color/experience to do it. He again said YES. He tattooed us both and didn't put on any saniderm, which was my first ever experience not having it. Then he gave me an after care card that said to use aquaphor which is known to be bad for tattoos, so I decided to use what I normally do, dial antibacterial soap and unscented lotion. But, after a few days of normal care, both my husband's tattoo and mine were irritated, goopy, and it looked like there were cracks in my skin. It was at this point that my husband and I had started using an antibiotic ointment on it, and I sent the artist a message letting him know. I did accidentally call the product we were using Neosporin in our conversation but that was NOT the product we used. He told me not to use Neosporin and to just leave the tattoo alone for a few days. Well, as the days went on, it just started looking worse and worse. So, I went to my local shop where I usually go and asked the owner what he thought I should do and what was going on. He told me that it was very clear that the artist did not know how to apply color. "He tore your skin apart". He told me to let the tattoo completely dry out and so now as of October 30th, 2023, a month and a half after getting the tattoo, I would finally say the tattoo is healed. But, as you can see from the photos, it's completely patchy and looks just awful. The tattoo was supposed to be special and meaningful and now it's an eyesore (and was EXTREMELY painful during the whole healing/drying out process). I'm not posting this to trash the shop or the artist. BUT, I am posting this to warn people: DO NOT COME HERE FOR COLOR TATTOOS. I think that the artists are good at black and grey/white tattoos, from the looks of their instagram pages/google reviews. That being said, I don't think they should accept just anyone if they don't know how to tattoo in color correctly. I would've preferred that he was honest and told me that he wasn't comfortable doing this type of art or something in color. I would've waited! Now I'm just waiting to have it redone by the artist/shop owner I consulted in my city. read more
